Went to a Baiyoke buffet last time that I was in town. Good spread, a lot of variety, fairly tasty but the japanese section was really good. Being on floor 78 with amazing views was a plus, get to walk around the top later. Strange, only 470 baht.

Finally gotten to try the Four Season's Sunday Brunch. It cost 2766 baht (all inclusive), and it was pretty darn good. The brunch comes with all the liquor, champagne you could drink and as recommended by member "visitingbkk" I made it a lunch and early dinner I started at around 12 noon, ate until 2pm and then was done eating for the rest of the day. As far as the food goes it does have excellent foie gras (thick cut and creamy), cooked to perfection. I had two slices of the foie gras and I was full. The caviar was also quite good, it was served near a koi pond with a server in knee high boots standing in the pond scooping out the caviar on plates! The quality of the caviar was good, however you are not going to get beluga, which cost over $50/ounce. They also have good crispy pork skin at the Chinese station which was deliciously crunchy without being hard to chew. They also have something interesting called a loin pork chop with crispy skin that was pretty tasty (the sauce accompanying it was a little sweet, however) The rare prime rib was ok, not worth recommending. They also have crab claws which is pretty good, however they went quickly. By the time I got around to trying them there was only 2 left, they went very well with the thousand island sauce. The champagne was good, not 1st tier quality (they are using Cinzano sparking wine as mixer to the Kir Royal, mimosa...etc) it did do the trick of getting me inebriated. In summary, I think the Four Season brunch was of extremely good quality. I believe it was superior in both quality of food and service to any other brunch I have tried anywhere. The closest that comes which I have tried are the Shanghai Westin brunch which has better quality champagne and a full orchestra performing! (some days), however the Four Season brunch beats it both in quality of food and service. If you got the bucks it doesn't get too much better than this. Watch out however for family with kids dining, since I was dining alone I was seated next to an Indian family with kids running around screaming! sigh...

Next time you (or anyone else) are seated near a screaming family with kids, just call the headwaiter and ask to be reseated. Its your money, you should fully enjoy it. Just politley explain the situation, and if there are other places available, they will be happy (or not but too bad - they aim for a good service don't they) to reseat you. This is the case in general for any pitfalls - just complain, polietly, and try to make the better of it. (airline seats included by the way, IF there are other places available - not always the case. Try to fly overnight with a crying baby/small kids, for 15 hours.... no fun, expecially in the business class area where you pay more and expect to have some peace and sleep...). Cheers! Ap.-

The bbbj cost an extra 100 baht. Just whisper to one of the server that you like her to give you a "smoke", then point to your groin.
