This tasteful, contemporary steak house is the newest addition to the Hotel's dining options. It features an open kitchen, a charcoal grill and a private dining room for up to 16 people. Madison serves Black Angus Argentinian beef, Australian beef, Kobe beef, as well as a diverse selection of innovative dishes, including fresh seafood. Every Sunday, a spectacular Brunch is offered, where guests can choose their dining venue and enjoy food from the cooking and buffet stations set around the Parichart Court and also inside the Madison. The steak house also features a wide variety of fine wine and single-malt whiskey. Seats 62 in the restaurant and 12 in the lounge.
Well it just goes to show you that you cannot believe everything that you find on the Internet. Beef from Argentina is no longer available at Madison's. The majority of beef was from Australia with some Japanese selections.
I opted for the Aussie lamb that was the best I had in Bangkok so far.
I tried a couple of restaurants in the Four Seasons, nothing memorable to warrant a second visit to eat. The food is decent, but not exceptional. Mainly, the layout and environment does not lend it self to fine dining. I had to keep on swatting mosquitoes in Madison because of its layout. It is a disappoint from such a Hotel chain. Very popular with the Japanese, speaking of which I got a great laugh out of two very drunk Japanese being driven to the front door in a new Toyota (Red plates) They were so drunk they could not figure how to get of the car. First the windows went down, then the doorman tried to open the door, but it was locked. The driver who was sober, but it seems he was just getting used to the new car as well. He tried frantically to unlock the doors, the truck popped, and fuel door capped.
The doorman tried to maintain his composure, but after seeing me laughing couldn't hold it back either. Finally, the driver figured out how to unlock the doors and the doorman opened the door for the panicked drunken Japanese passengers in the back.

I just tried the Prime restaurant at the Millenium Hilton. The food was very high quality and the service was quite good. I wanted to try the Australian Prime Rib, however they were finished by the time we got there. Ordered the NY Strip Loin for me and the Rib Eye steak for my teerak. The food is identical to the old NY Steakhouse before their manager left 2 years ago. Even the bread service was almost the same(2 styles of bread instead of the 4). The steaks were cooked perfectly and have to say the portions were enormous. I could barely finish my NY Strip loin and tried in vain to finish my teerak's Rib Eye to no avail. If you go with a Thai girl DO NOT order a steak for her. There is no way she will make a dent in it. In fact, do not take a Thai girl to the Prime restaurant no matter what the circumstances since they probably will not like the food and will not be able to even eat 20% of the steak. I believe that the previous manager at the NY steak house was the reason it became so popular, if you tried the food at the Prime restaurant you will understand why the old NY Steak house was so good. Most of the staff went with the manager to this new place as well as the chef. However, sad to say the manager has since left Thailand and is longer here. The food however is still quite good at the Prime, expect to pay 3k/person.

Good ridence to that worthless Polish manager. The reason everything is the same is he doesn't have two brain cells left to innovate any other menu. I know one BTF member that spends 25K THB a week in the NY Steak House, yet the pollack could not even remember his name and acted like he was a new customer every week. Then one week insulted his business guest. Glad to see he left.
The replacement manager at NY steakhouse was perfection, but as such was hired off to become F&B manager on a new hotel opening in the Spring.
Now the replacement manager atthe NY steakhouse is a French guy. No interaction with him yet, so jury still out.
The trip to the Millenium is way across the river, so I did not venture over there yet and being that bitpump's review and others have it pegged just like the NY Steakhouse there is no compelling reason to sit in traffic to go there.
My TGF loves the NY Steak house. It is all about finding the right TG.

Just for the record, Thaidup, who in the world are you talking about? I've known every manager the New York Steak House ever had, and none of them has been a Pole. The current manager is Philippe, who is French and a thoroughgoing professional with considerable experience in fine restaurants around Asia including Ma Maison here in Bangkok, and the one before him was Robert, a Dutchman, who was friendly and very competent. Before that was another Frenchman, and...well, that's enough.
Even if one of the managers had been Polish, perhaps particularly if one had been Polish, you should be ashamed of yourself for casually throwing out a ignorant racist taunt like 'pollack' to describe him. Surely if a manager you disliked had been black, you would have restrained yourself from describing him as a nigger; or maybe you wouldn't have.
Either way, you are a jerk and should apologize for your choice of language.

Old Asia Hand,
The guy that went to Millenium from NY Steakhouse was Polish. He was rude and arrogant. The majority of the staff despised him. Some followed as he was not the manager of just the restaurant and they got sizable pay increases without having to work for him.
Once upon a time I went to NYSH during his tenure. Some gentlemen sat at a table next to us and ordered after we did- their steak arrived first. No probs but ours wasn't anywhere in sight. When I asked the Pole if there was any problem, he said "All of our steaks take 30 minutes to prepare."
I responded "Bullshit!! The table next to us ordered after and received theirs first"
The Pole was dumstruck and stupified that I would use that word. But after his arrogance casually threw off this feeble excuse - no apology and no attempt to check to see what the delay was, in my mind he became the proud owner of the sobriquet "the Pollack".
I reminded him that I frequent the establishment regularly and that if the 30 minute rule was in effect, (a) this was the very first time I had ever been told this (b) what happened to the steak on the next table- it didn't look raw? and (c) why did they not post this on the menu in order that everyone would be advised?
He said he did not have to tolerate such language and walked away. Consumate professional? Consumate dickhead?
Robert took over for the Pollack and the place was 1000% better. The service was always good but it improved because the staff had a boss who was good and not dismissive. The food was consistent and steaks didn't take 30 minutes. If there was any delay, Robert addressed it courteously and efficiently. He often bought bottles of wine, after dinner liquors or drinks at the bar.
Phillipe seems nice but also appears to be a bit shy. No problem. He is friendly and remembers names. And he walks to greet the guests as they arrive.
Pollack is a bad name, I am comfortable to refrain from using it again and will substitute Dickhead. And as I am not familiar with the etymology of the word, I can only hope I haven't insulted an entire population from Dickland.

Well in terms of an apology here it goes "I bid you farewell from Thailand and hope you have a kielbasa shoved up your Pollack ass as your facial expression always seem to hint at."
There I feel better now.
Anyhow Old Asia Hand, I am playing my race card. Blacks seem to have a license to use nigger anytime they want as they are black. The word is just off limits to white crackers.
Being of Slavic heritage I therefore have the same license to use the work Pollack. Pollack is not really a word to describe Polish people, but has generically spread to any idiot of any descent. Just as Kleenex now denotes tissues. I do not know the exact history, but it may have something to do with the battle plans of the Poles to fight the Germans on horses versus battle tanks.
Lastly, I think you owe an apology to the French is thinking that the Pollack was French.
