There's nothing exciting about Dutch food, there doesn't have to be. Everything tastes great after the coffeehouse. Ribs, T-Bone, Lamb Chops, nothing is particularly good here, except the Guinness, and breakfasts are ok. But I like the ambiance of the place, and it brings back some fond memories: Like when I shagged a waitress upstairs on the pool table six years ago. She needed a cell phone, and there were no other afternoon customers. Looks like the upstairs is only used for storage now, but the pool table is still there. Leans slightly towards soi 23, as I recall, had to compensate to center my cue in the pocket.
So, if it's raining on Soi Cowboy and you need something to soak up the alcohol, the Old Dutch is a good choice, far better than clogging up your arteries at the Fish & Chips Shop a few doors down.
And do remember to slide the door open...

Went here last month for first time.... empty apart from some Japanese Tourists. Food was absolutely very average, vibe quite good but not what I was expecting from a restaurant practically in Soi Cowboy. Owners are also up themselves with various brags displayed about about how good the food is... maybe I ordered badly.
Drinks are cold... nothing special. I would rather eat a muff burger at one of the go go's than visit this place again.

This has been a great place for many years when it was run by countryman Henk. Nice food, very reasonable prices.
When he disappeared after the failure of his 500 million baht hotel/resort in Pattaya it was bought by the owners of Suzy Wong.
The quality went backwards, the prices upwards.

When was the change over? 5 years ago or so?
I go there on occasion, it isn't too bad. For the quality and price of food I would just as soon go to Love Scene.
Some of the guys I know come there to sit outside to watch the talent going to work about 6pm and drink beer.

about 5 yrs ago, correct. the food is not spectacular, but its honest food.
fish and chips is nice, the slow simmered beef is actually really good.
missing the days when we closed down toxic and glow and all went there for a feast and a bit of afterparty.
most the sheba and suzy girls came over (same ownership as the doc pointed out).
even managed to get a GF waitress out of there for a while.

Remember those days well -especially the Burgers at the take-out window at 4am ish. I actually had some really good Thai food there again at 4-5 am ish upstairs. I told the tiny little waitress who always yelled at me (no apparent reason) that I wanted it spicy and she did not disappoint. I recall trying togo to sleep under the pool table  Thanks for putting me in a cab  !

I can recommend the Hungarian Goulash withe rice. Excellent meal when you're shit faced and need to load up on some carbs among other things. Later sit outside Baccara and watch the world go by.

It was usually rather good when Hank was the owner, but since the place was taken over standards have fallen considerably. Also, I don't know why they had to hire a bunch of poofs as waiters when the waitresses were doing a good job. These days the place isn't worth a visit.
