If you follow the politics of Thailands tourist industry, Bangkok has been logged off as sin city for the brids and corruption to take place....S.T. and B.J. Bars often full on Les show and totally nude Go Go where you can get a lap dance with you zipper undone etc....
Pattaya is so close and offers more of the same but a little more limited! Phuket is suppose to be that last batsion of mrality. What oyu do in BKK and Pattaya is not O.K. is Patong etc.... No B.J. bars 99% covered Go Go's really only 2 soapys Grand Palace near Robinsons in Phuket Town and Christins in Patong.....That's the short but clear version....As to the girls I don't think that Boom Boom is better because it is a less harsh enviro....
I've had many girls tell me that BKK and Pattaya are to dirty for them...both social and environmental etc.
The Patong girls may be a little less hardened in many cases, which suits me just fine! That's my two cents and I suppose it comes true at Songkron when you compare the two styles!

In my opinion, there is no doubt that the nightlife is best in Patong itself, Soi Bangla is the main area. If you are not staying in Patong and stay at one of the better beaches, a smaller beer bar complex can be found in Karon driving to the roundabout the beach road and then moving the street a bit away from the beach. In Karon at the beach road you have Karon Center, another beer bar complex and then in Kata center there is another beer bar complex. I have always stayed in the area where I wanted to enjoy the night out.
I have so far never barfined from an a go go bar in Patong so I do not know about the prices. But you will see that there is no need to barfine from a go go bars, as there are countless beer bars around. The barfines at beer bars are as mentioned Baht 200 to 300 and a Baht 1500 for LT is sufficient. Many times the BGs stay with you the whole day and you can take them to the beach. Just ask them if they want to go to the beach with you and they might be happy to follow.
The hotels where I stayed and are within your price range are the Expat Hotel where I had a deluxe aircon room. The hotel is walking distance to the nightlife and has a relaxing inner court with a swimming pool and a 24 hrs coffeeshop. Then I stayed at Ruam Thep in Karon at the beach just before you drive up the hill towards Marina Cottages. This place is Thai owned and I do not think they have an email address for bookings, I bargained at Baht 1200 a night in March for an aircon room.
The other places I stayed at including Karon and Kata were a little bit more upmarket, but you might like to check out http://latestays.com to find some bargain rates. Just doublecheck with the hotel what rate they could offer you. If you want to stay in a fancy enviroment and have the same BG for a few days you might like to check out Club Bamboo up the hill outside Patong, but you might need a motorbike or a tuktuk if you stay there, as it is too far to walk to Patong.

Phuket is one of my favourite playgrounds and due to things that happened to other bros lately, I do not want to give out any detailled info on the forum.

Asian Man, Phuket is completely different as stated. When I am in BKK my whole mental attitude is adjusted to the city and its vices, good and bad. When I am in Phuket it is a total attitude adjustment to the beach scene. It is all about being relaxed and hanging out on an island. This particular island happens to have a few spots where the amount of available women is mind boggling, the amount of partying one wants to do is unlimited, and the selection of food can vary from the grilled fresh fish Thai style to the spiciest Indian curry, to the all beef patty’s w/special sauce mcdonalds burger, to the Italian oven grinders found on Karon beach. The choice is yours. 5 star accommodations to rooms for rent, the choice is yours. You will find these same selections on BKK or Pattaya, or many other places in LOS but it is the attitude of the people in Phuket, that laid back, no need to do anything in any kind of hurry, attitude that just makes you feel happy and want to stay longer. Not to mention the Thai people in Phuket take Thai friendliness and hospitality to another level.
I get to Thailand 5 or 6 times a year for one week to one month stays, maybe I stop in BKK for a night or two to visit friends and get my quick fix of a big city, ( I live in the Arabian Desert and I come from Florida USA) but most times I am transiting through to Phuket. This New Year, I could not get a confirmed flight to Phuket on 30 December, I arrived early that morning at BKK airport and waited most of the day just to get to Phuket and see that wild and friggin’ crazy scene on Bangla at midnight. Only then to wake up the next day and it has all been cleaned up and I am off to the beach for a day of jet skiing and boating.
This is Phuket.

I feel exactly the same way. Bangkok is ok if its just work you are up to. However the beach area of Phuket is a totally relaxing place, but one where excellent public services are fairly close at hand in the way of hospitals, schools, shopping malls -- if you need them.
What's more there is some excellent night life available on our island with lots of young lassies. You will find them in Phuket Town or Patong Beach. You don't have to live in the middle of all the din, but its usually not more than a 15 minutes
drive away.
Some decades ago, I used to be stabled in Pattaya but the traffic, noise, and pollution eventually drove me south to Phuket where I am now most content.

I don't even go into Bangkok anymore....I have a very nice hotel out at the Airport that works for me....I'm a late arrival and early depart guy....Arrival nite I just sleep at the hotel take their free shuttle to Thai Domestic and then return to the BKK airport hotel late in the day for an early am depart...(I've some good body massage from the hotel Spa, sort of flushing the tanks on arrival!).I now stay out of BKK...And Pattaya for that matter...Quite a change from a guy who paid in on a BKK apartment and a Nakula house last year and a Jomtien house the year before.
Actually the people drove me out of both towns....Everybody is on the hustle, trying to get money for nothing!
