You need to expand your hunting grounds beyond the "bushes" at Lumpinee Park. I have NEVER seen a TG who didn't want to shower before and after...
From my observation point, we're talking about cultural differences - People from the Indian subcontinent GENERALLY do not use deodorants, and natural body odor is accepted there. When they come to fastidious Thailand, they stand out a bit...The more cosmopolitan, the more likely they are to observe hygiene comparable to the rest of the world...

IMO:
I agree that it is cultural differences, diet and of course hygene that play a huge factor in a person's aroma.
BUT..... I think that all the cultures are guilty of what you posted the people from the Indian subcontinent GENERALLY do.
As a collective group, generally speaking, how many Westerners, Middle Easterns, Europeans or Asians in their respected continent take more then 1 shower a day and/ or wear deoderant and/or cologne/perfume? Or are even aware of their body aroma or even care?
How many wear too much cologne? You know it's too much when the vapor trail shows up 5 minutes after they've passed!!! Ha ha ha!!
I think each group has their owne unique smells and maybe the biggest factor is culture. Since each culture deems what they think smells acceptible.

GENERALLY don't use deodorant ? why should they ? do they tell you what you should do ? maybe they have a complaint or two about you ? never know. maybe most can't afford it. would you be kind enough to drop several million tons of deodorant in to there country?
my post was simple, not all TG's smell like flowers. you're not saying that they all do, are you ? hope you'll not.

All these generalisations about NEVER having come across a TG who didn't want to shower BEFORE and AFTER the act are just proof that the writer speaks from limited and perhaps unfortunate experience.
I personally like the natural odour of TGs, especially after they've been working up a sweat on the dance floor. To wash that off would be sacrilegious, so I tell them that we can shower after not before. And 9 times out of 10, it's ok.
(In my book, if a girl looks like she really needs a shower, then she's best avoided.)
A lot of thai girls will not insist you take a shower if you look well groomed, clean and smell nice.
Having said that, if one observes the punters of ALL nationalities who parade up and down Sukhumvit, it is easy to see why most of them are a natural turn-off for most hygiene-conscious TGs.
