Besides, Thai Buddhism is only LOOSELY based on Indian Buddhism. Thai Buddhism is pick-and-choose buddhism, with heavy iconsims thrown in.
If something smells bad to THEIR nose, it dooesn't matter where it comes from. Just because their religion is inspired by Indian religion doesn't mean they have to change what they consider aromatic or not.

Hi everybody!!!
I am from India and was in Bangkok for 6 days in April. I did not have any problems with any TG as regards race. It all depends on how nice you are to them.
As far as smells go one man's fragrance may be another man's you know what. I personally felt offended by the smells generated by food in Thailand because I am basically a South Indian Vegetarian.
A professional call girl in India will basically not be so interested in neatness as a TG is. This is basically because of the demand supply equation. TGs are so many that if one of them is going to smell, punter may not be interested. Plus habit forming is a bit difficult.
Black generally is looked down I agree. But we should keep in mind, neatness is Individual rather than racial.
Another reason may be that lot of Indians being very conservative in sexual practises may look a bit standoffish to TGs. Imagine somebody not interested in kissing or sucking tits, leave alone oral and AR. Actually couple of Eden dames were surprised with my sexual proclavities, saying Indians generally don't do all these things!!! (see my FR in Speciality Bars: Eden Club thread)
Most important thing is monetary gratification. If you treat them decently and pay them some tips over what is agreed upon, genrally TGs treat you also well.
Bangkok compared to India is pretty cheap for romping. Quality of SEX is also high. So, I don't think Indian brethern will be lacking in payment aspect.
Plus, generally people in Thailand don't like Indians because of jealousy as most of the Indians have done well there financially. This also has to be kept in mind. (see Stickman's report).

msg4558 has drawn a true picture. I am from India too and in my last 3 trips in 2 years I felt that it more due to the bad treatment that was meated out to TGs that has made them draw an overall bad picture of Indians in general. You have to treat them properly and be nice with them. A good meal, few gifts and they will just swoon on you. I never got any bad vibes form the TGs I had met in Soi Cowboy. They just love to be pampered a bit and they will love to reciprocate. My next trip is planned for Sept '04. Any guys interested in meeting up?

I agree with the two previous posters. I am also Indian and have been to LOS every year for the past six years. I have never had any problems with TGs refusing to go with me.
I think that being neatly dressed, smiling, treating the TGs with respect and talking to them goes a long way.
Funny thing is that I have been refused entry into some of the Go-Go Bars - excuse was that it was for members only.
Last year I tried to enter Suzie Wong in Soi Cowboy and was told that it was for members only. As I was leaving some of the "hello girls" from the other bars ran to me and said "you welcome our bar hansum man" :-) TIT.
If I am refused entry a bar I just go to another one that is happy to accept my patronage.
Just my two cents worth.

not arguing, just pointing out. Buddha was a Hindu/Indian, but the Thai form of Buddhism has strayed far from what many consider a more true form in Tibet.

Hi everybody!!!!
The experiance of Kingfisher of being not allowed in Suzie Wong is pretty depressing to say the least.
In this world, a man is assessed by the way he presents himself, unfortunately.
So as he says decent presentation with a nice smiling face helps. But dont forget Bhats that you can spread around.
Basically we should not forget TG is a call girl interested in your Bhats rather than you per se.
Once you keep this in mind and try not to short change them, I think every thing should be okey.
All that apart, a basic aversion towards a particular race may be due to several reasons, and it may not show all the times.
I have heard Indians are as much disliked by American girls. The reason I was given to understand was that Indians are basically not reliable and never keep up their promises. They have a steamy relationship with the girl, promise her when they are going to India, they as soon as are back will tie the knot, but come back with a bride as selected by their parents.
You can see all this is becuase of the Indian culture where you are supposed to marry and live with one of your own caste (and in India there are 1000's of castes).
So, basically an Indian will have certain restrictions in his thinking about his relationship with TG. But at the same time he wants to get best out of his gig with them. Naturally he will promise moon knowing pretty well there is going to be zilch.
TGs should be pretty communicative between themseleves, given they are thrown together for long periods of time.
They should be exchanging notes and arriving at same conclusions i.e., Indian is basically not reliable.
Not knowing his compulsions, it is obvious TGs (for that matter anyone) come to same conclusions.
I suggest we Indians should never give promises which we know, we cannot perform.
This may improve our esteem in world's eyes (including TGs, ofcourse).

i've known a few ladies who were given those promises by both Indians and Muslim (UAE) folk and were sadly left holding the bag.
only the cases where the suitor stayed in LOS did the promise actually get followed thru.
the girls spread this info among friends very quickly, and it becomes a warning to co-workers and friends.
if they took a BG home with them, their family would try and make her into a servant or even worse, "un-touchable"
or could even dispell their son from their house.
I even explained to a young lady that she should not expect her friend from Abu Dhabi to come back again to receive her as his wife, but maybe for some more P4P.
he's never been back, at least not to her

A bit of self introspection will certainly help the Indians (like Me) don't you feel?
What you want from a TG is best service and satisfaction. This comes through looks, sex and GFE. Don't get carried away by GFE, pamper the TG with Bhats and not promises, and you are spot on.
