I would be inclined to view it as more of an accident than an act of stupidity. It certainly would look stupid to a seasoned player in the p4p scene who has experienced how cunning some of the ladies are. But with 69 years' experience of life, during which he held such a decent job, married and raised 2 kids, and retired with around half a million dollars -- come on it is unfair to dismiss such a long life in one word, although it was despatched in one blow.
Such accidents happen to expert car drivers and pilots, even surgeons make fatal mistakes. It is like remembering this gentleman for that one accident of trust (betrayal) that he suffered rather than the 69 successful years he lived. I think what some of us really feel is that "we" would be stupid to do such a thing (given the stories we hear and the lessons we acquire from BTF posts). A lot many of us would make those same mistakes if we didn't have the benefit of reading this forum.

So, he was a smart young cookie that was successful in his life and career, until he turned into an old fool.
Sorry, there's no way to white wash this 'accident', IMO.
