BTF has tried the posting limit before without good results. I think BK has done a good compromise solution where the tech items do not appear in the last 25 list and he created an ALT last 25 that list them. You have to purposely look for the tech articles, so why all the complaints? Everyone is free to ignore the tech threads and they do not appear in the normal last 25 threads.

I propose this....
Nobody post anything condescending towards another member over here on the main for a week...if it is a joke I think we all can tell, but most of the time it is obviously negative & derogatory in nature...
If we can go one week (BKK time noon August 20th) I will put up an enjoyable tab with RTB at Toxic next Friday for anyone in BKK to enjoy (assuming RTB is good with a CC#..and RTB it should go thru 555!)...
and to those that dont like me, I wont even be there...so winner, winner chicken dinner.... free drinks without my ass..
since I am offering the tab I will let the boss, BK, judge if anyone is condescending and thus nullifying the offer..
here is to 1 week of solace gentlemen

What I am not sure about is how many genuine FR or feedback posters -- like Scruffy in this instance -- will suffer because of such a limit. Here we have a great candidate to hear from, young, first-timer and -- importantly -- an apparently nice fella who has clearly done a lot of reading and research on BTF before he started posting. He's a true bro. I am sure like me there are hundreds of readers -- not all of them posting -- who are awaiting his posts. I have a slight misgiving here that a post-limit will curb the guy unnecessarily -- and thereby do more harm to the Forum and its readership. Besides, when there are a handful of new topics, or new developments, or new FRs, all happening at the same time, the post limit will be too restrictive.
I suggested tighter controls on flaming and digressing only as an option IF something had to be fixed at all. I was not careful enough to clarify it. Agree with CS, that the forum has lost several readable posters. Keeping the main forum free of any controls is of course the best option -- so long as all members too exercise responsibility in maintaining the "environment." As we have been seeing here, there is a free-for-all with virtually any topic leading to a bash-up.  . Truth to say, much of it I cannot understand. Truth to say also, I do not envy BK his job. Managing a forum like BTF must be a lot like governing a republic.
CS, "those days of smoke and fire" -- actually they were so cerebral ; I think that the "flaming" that we see every so often here somehow has a personal touch to it and often is totally unconnected with any particular topic or thread here. Let me hasten to add, I am not taking sides, nor holding any one in particular responsible ; just an aside. Like any personal rivalry it tends not to end and, honestly, is an avoidable distraction to the lay reader who is only looking for a discussion or information.

I dunno about that Kaymanx,
I still believe that anyone should be able to ask questions and post on their experiences with 35 posts a week.
I would put up FLR as an example. He excellent series on his experiences with courtship and marriage in Thailand was done on less than 35 posts a week.
I would also suggest that such a limit would push the extraneous postings not relevant to life and partying in LOS (imposts) to the 'Z' where I think they belong.
Case in point, I have just made two posts on this thread responding to two people. This is because I have the capability of posting as many times as I wish. Now if I had a 5 post limit I would have taken a little time and combined the posts or; if I had more important things to say elsewhere I would have not posted on this thread at all...

Well, Scruffy is maybe the only person in recent times whose more than five posts a day were welcomed by the rest of the forum; and even he is now below that, partly because he is talking face to face with the greatest monger experts in the country, and partly because he is too busy having sex to post!
BK - I guess you could instigate the five post limit for everyone, and maybe people who want to be exempted could make their case in a thread, and if there is general agreement, they could be exempted for, say, a month. Maybe this could be via an anonymous vote, if this board supports that. Maybe people would need to be nominated. I'm guessing that most people would not be granted the exemption! (and that's fine).
(personally, I don't see the case for a limit. I'm not interested in tech, and don't read the posts in that section; and freezing people seems to be doing the job. Maybe having one week freezes for small infractions, just so people don't play silly buggers trying to see just how far they can go without being banned? A month is a loooong time, quite a harsh punishment, a week might keep people on their toes!)
Just ideas, not really suggestions.

Yeah, I have made sure of that. 
What can be done is this. Limit the posts to 5/day, and if one needs to post some more, can send me a PM, and I can reset the counter for them. Of course, if I don't see any reason to provide an extension, then I won't do it.
Point taken about freezing. 1 week for small infractions.
