The problem with that is there are a lot of leachers out there. They just want to get information, and not contribute at all. That was the reason for collecting on the membership fees. It was actually an idea that was proposed to me. I don't see any point in charging contributors, that is why harold doesn't have to pay, though I would hardly say he contributes at all.

IMHO there's only so many times a poster wants to post about a great session at a particular place, and like wise they only want to read posts of that nature so many times.
I would suggest one way to get the forum going is to bring new blood in, advertise the forum, give a guest membership that allows free 30 day access (reading and posting) after which member fee is charged ? You need to let people taste and feel what they will get before you charge them for it, also it tends to be new blood that go out and write about all the things we've forgotten about years ago, so it serves as a refresh to the forum threads.
I mostly read the forum these days in the hope that something new has been discovered, something beyond the confines of Nana, Cowboy, Patpong and the Bangkok oily and soapies, some little sparks have been identified but nothing new in recent times.
At the end of the day it's BK's board and he rightly can choose to do as he see's best, he seems to have done a damn good job so far.

IMHO :
1. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
2. If it is, let's try and identify just where the fracture is.
3. While we are about it, let's remember that one of BTF's strengths is the high quality of posters it attracts -- across all 'legally major' age groups, nationalities, religions & cultures, and intellectual and economic backgrounds -- a truly secular, unipolar forum. BTF is already doing more for globalisation, peace and brotherhood (and sisterhood) than many government sponsored initiatives.
4. An open-ended informative site like this builds up from members' contributions. Too often some drop out while new ones keep coming in. The nicest thing is that all contributions remain in archive long after the authors have exited. Like any knowledge site, BTF's future will largely depend on its ability to remain the prime source of reference for newbies and researchers looking for info and tips on LOS. "If you have a question ask it here."
To what extent it succeeds in retaining older members is in many ways a factor of the older members' own resourcefulness, since that is what it builds on. Practicing some restraint in flaming new members, or each other, might help.
Often we blame the environment around us for leaving us jaded when the real reason is that we are having too much of one thing. The gogo's and the massage parlours continue to thrill people, it's just that some of us sometimes are having too much of them. Same same BTF.
