Has anybody here ever broken the heart of somebody back home so that they could follow their dreams and move to Thailand?
Im unhappy in my current relationship. Its not her fault, I just dont belong here. My heart is in Thailand and hers isnt. I think I just need to hear that Im not the first person to be in the situation where they knew they were going to upset somebody they care deeply for so that they could live the life they were supposed to.

I left Thailand to set up a rather succesful company in France and almost everyday need to fight the thought to f*** up the company and move back to Bangkok!! Wouldn't be held back half a minute by a unconvincing western relationship!!
But then Thailand is not the remedy of all frustrations either... go figure... what would we do without airplanes??

I brought a close mate to LOS about 2 yeas ago. My advice to him, "don't fall for the first BG you meet, have fun, don't believe the GFE".
Well he did, and he went straight home & ended his marriage...he hardly took a breath. That was a great reflection on me around the traps & I copped a lot of undeserved shyte. Amongst the FFWC (Fat Farang Wife Club) I was person non grata.
He went & lived in LOS a short while, made all the appropriate arrangements, and late last year married the object of his desire in LOS & OZ.
Happy as a pig in shit he is.
Who knows where it will go, but all my instincts and advice were ignored anyway, and may well have been wrong.
Follow your big head, your heart, and little head in that order I think, before you make a major decision.

Be careful about being certain what life you are "supposed" to have. Be flexible.
