True story:
My nick dates back to 1994. At the age of 16 I bumped into a bunch of Thai katoey prostitutes during a party at Dorian Grey disco at the Frankfurt/Main airport. By that time I really had no clue about katoeys. To me, they were just the most beautiful, silicone-titted women I've ever seen.

It's the name of a character on the old Saturday Night Live Show played by Dan Ackryod. Mainway was always appearing as a sleeze bag guest on a Consumer Report show hawking some sort of dangerous or exploitative products. In my favorite one he was selling dangerous Halloween costumes like "Johnny Flamethrower" (a bunch of gas-soaked rags and a lighter) and "Mister Invisible" (an all black costume). When the host would confront him about his dangerous products, Mainway would rationalize with something like, "Anything can be dangerous. See this pencil? If I flip it around it might accidentially poke me in the eye. Should we ban pencils?"
