mokewen is my Chinese nickname given to me by my first putonghua laoshi - Mandarin teacher.
It means Mr. Overcome Language and resembles my given name.
I have since been given a few more choice putonghua nicknames which I will not divulge as too many BTF members - "Neng shuo putonghua ne" (can speak mandarin) - and the nicknames are not always flattering.
It's a bitch when the newbie status wears off and you are held accountable for your actions.
Anybody ever hear of the putonghua expression:
huaxin - ?
Both are first tones for the linguists...

Chinese nicknames originating from Southern China - especially Nanning - can be especially brutal. The southern putonghua dialect is far removed from its more refined Beijing big brother!

No it is not Beamers or Beemers - they are used for the BMW motorcycles. It is a variation of Bimmers that is used for the car. I think I was on a forum for cars and bimmers was taken so I changed it to bimmher.

I doubt whether any of you guys will believe
this but we had a few Brit guys pay a visit a
while back. Not the tallest on the planet but
looked one hell fit 'mothers'! Only four came
and I caught them talking about the 'weekend
johnnies' of 23 and 21 Reg. But get this they
all (4) signed in as John Smith ! Well I read that
limey book Bravo Twenty and did a check. Mostly
fiction although the guy who walked the desert
did that. I said to the boss -how are they getting
away with this John Smith crap ?- All I got was a
knowing smile and don't ask. Well after seeing the
film Matrix on video (didn't like the second one?) -
wet night a six-pack, TV dinner and not a lot else
in this part of town, not even a lap-joint! I thought
well with my foreign sounding name (Norwegian)
I might as well opt for Agent Smith. My African-
American colleague here reckons 'Greasy Raincoat'
with a legend of 'Dog-ended playboy mag' would be
in the accuracy parameter. Our office is a 'PC free zone'
and I aint talking computers.
I am considerably impressed with the sinologists
on this line of postings.

Haam Sup is a cantonese phrase which means "pervert" or "salty dirty wet man."
Am I right Haam?
