Another embarrassing game from Bret Favre as the New York Jet loose 4 of their last 5 games to miss the playoffs despite having spent more than $140 million in free agency in the offseason and having an NFL-high seven Pro Bowl selections.

In Farve's last game this season (maybe last game in NFL) he threw 3 interceptions (his trademark). The INT's were all pathetic passes thrown right at the Miami defensive player (no tips), and one was returned for a Miami touchdown. On his last play, Farve made an illegal forward pass, to close out a pathetic 22 TD, 22 Interception season. Shame, shame, shame.

He should have stayed retired, now his arm is falling off. A measure of satisfaction for Chad Pennington. Nevertheless, have to admire Favre's love of the game.

I would say it's more a love of himself than a love of the game.

Agreed,

I have neither love nor hate for Favre but feel his legacy is with Green Bay and he should have just hung it up...

But in my opinion he had a "I'll show you attitude!"

and for a few weeks it looked as that was the case...but ouch....

I know Montana, Emmitt and many others spent their last years with teams they will not be remembered with but it was more an "in your face" attitude with Favre and it is sad...I think the aformentioned guys at least got some picks for their former teams...

On another note, the Falcons sure did pull off a season though!!!!

I was at the final regular season game today and although Matt Ryan didnt have his best game I feel he is a franchise QB...and a good kid (23 year old rookie)..or as my Dad says "He is a good role model and no thug!"

The Falcons salvaged my football season after the lackluster performance of my college team....

*EDIT IN*

The Miami Dolphins deserve much props as well...and I also like the job Matt Cassell did with New England....an inexperienced backup QB coming in and rocking it the way he did...good on him!

But in my opinion he had a "I'll show you attitude!"

I think the reason he came back was that his final pass last year in the playoffs was an interception with the game tied that lost the game for the Packers. He didn’t want his last pass to be an interception (he is a little sensitive about criticisms of his many critical interceptions, as he should be).

Almost happened again this year. His next to last pass was an interception when Jets had a chance to tie the game. It was one of the most pitiful passes I have ever seen. When he came out for one more play at the very end with about 15 seconds left, he threw a very short pass that was completed and got lateraled back to him and then he threw the illegal forward pass. Since his last official pass of this season was a completion (no matter how pathetic), maybe he will hang it up this time.

I think the Falcons did an amazing job this year. I would not be surprised if they go deep into the playoffs.

I'll always remember Farve from a game I attended while living in California, when he threw 4 touchdown passes in the first half the day after his father died.

Since we are talking football..

I feel the colts and steelers are looking good...

When you end the season the way the Colts did, and of course there is Payton you cant count them out...

I look for a Colts Vs whatever NFC team they put up in the Superbowl....

And as much as I really dont like them...Philli...is a team on a roll I would not want to face...

I wouldnt be suprised if an NFC wild card team went deep or even to the superbowl....same as last year....

my bet,

old age has beenhaunting Farve...... notice his passes are a little behind now and not quite the zip he had before..... Wellif Culpepper could hang around, like Warren Mon, so could Farve... but why? because these guys don't know what to do wi tthemselves after father time takes his toll.

Better to go out on top instaed of rusting away.

And Romo killed me in fantasy football this year. f***ing loser.

Farve's problem is that he is like a little boy, and his judgment is bad. The 3 passes he had intercepted were short ones that should never have been thrown. It wouldn't have mattered how good of an arm he had, they shouldn't have been thrown.

At times during the last few years the coaches have been able to get Farve to play with more maturity, but after awhile the real little boy comes out (especially when the game is on the line and the pressure increases) and that is when he shows very poor judgment.
