When going to LOS I never bring taxfree cigarettes with me. I go for the local ones, even if the taste is different and they are softer in the consistence. But I like them!
When going home I bring always two cartons, but actually the customs would only allow one. I always save one the next trip and I open it at the departure gate of the airport.

I've never had a problem bringing in 2 cartons (200 each). One is usually in my luggage and the second one is in a duty free bag. So far I've never had problems with cutoms.
Mind you, the only reason I bring in the 2 is because the brand I smoke (and like) I can't get in LOS and I'm sure the locals would understand.
