It depends on where you fly from. I've found the cheapest flights in the US are Continental and Korean Air/Delta. Problem with Continental if you fly from the Midwest are the connections. Korean Air international flights have good meals and you can watch the Korean stewardesses.

Just bought a ticket from LAX-BKK in August on Philippine Airlines for $628. (I located it on Yahoo, then bought it directly from PA to save the $20 FedEx fee.) After searching through them all I realized Yahoo always finds the lowest prices, and their system is very efficient and user-friendly. My only complaint with them is they will never issue an e-ticket, so you always end up paying an extra $20 for the FedEx fee. I've also had good luck with Expedia.

I have priced some trips at Orbitz.com and Travelocity.com and they are quite competitive. Yahoo seems to want more extensive personal information than the other two for a login, so I have so balked at signing up at Yahoo. Quite a while ago I had a Yahoo login for a while, but I didn't care for the spam. Others may have a different experience.

J have purchased my last two round trip tickets - LAX to BKK - from yahoo travel. Yahoo's prices were the cheapest I could find. I found the earlier you reserve the ticket, the better the price.
EVA has a coach fare with a business-class seat at a reasonable price - connects through Taipei.

HP, when buying International tickets online there is some law that says they cannot e-ticket. I've never been able to get an e-ticket anywhere Internationally departing from America. I've always have to have the real thing.

Law? No international E-tickets? Huh? I always fly Cathay Pacific and always get an E-ticket online. In fact, I recently took advantage of their 'deal of the month" and purchased a round trip from San Francisco to BKK via E-ticket for 685. E-tickets are great, no worries.

It sounds like you book directly with Cathay Pacific through their website. That may be the difference. I sure like the E-ticket concept. Too bad E-tickets are not available when booking through Orbitz or Travelocity. (AFAIK, that is)

Well, maybe not a law, but there is some rule out there where Orbitz, Travelocity, Hotwire, and others will not do it for International flights. The reasons I don't know. I of course would like the e-ticket option myself as I am not fond of paying the additonal $20 just to get them sent to me.

For me it is not so much the extra cost, as it is the convenience of not having to worry about, or concern myself with keeping track of (securing) a paper ticket during the trip.
