Dr Love's useful input. This actually happened to me when I did not notice that one of the months had 31 days.
Regarding the visa extension, I believe the cost is approximately 1900 baht for 10 or 15 days. On that occasion I knew I needed additional time well in advance. Hotel provided information regarding the exact immigration office where I needed to apply.Two passport photos were required, which I acquired at a photo shop directly accross the street from immigration. Total of four hours including transport. Went with a real cute "hiso wanna be". Not a problem at all

And it's exactly 1,900B for exactly 30 days (tourist visa extension). A simple search for 'thai visa' using Google usually produces many hits on the unimaginatively, but accurately named thaivisa.com
'an answer that gives you a maybe is not what I was
looking for'
You may find it a little frustrating in Thailand...
