hi to all,this is my first posting and its on something that grates me more and more every trip to los from the uk.i live on the borderbetween scotland and england.normally fly from manchester for choice and price but every year gets more and more expensive.best price ever was with finnair (could smoke then) £330inc,then turkish £380inc,last jan 'o4 turkish £480,now the shitty part,jan 2 - 17 this year klm £613 and trying to book for mar 25 - 2 apr,cheapest I can get is £622inc from LONDON.PRICES ARE GETTING CRAZY.anyway sorry for rambling on in my 1st post guys but something doesn't quite add up high season or not.

my dates are fixed,cannot alter due to job,must be them that is causing variations but I don't know how,to the degree they are.tried many,many sources on the web.yes they all state from £300 up but when you inform on travel arrangements you require all of a sudded the posts move big-time.thats life a suppose,tease you in then drop the bomb.

You can fly on BA to Hong Kong for about £500 then return HK to BKK on 1-2-Go for £75.

thaiali, 25th march is Good friday and many people will be looking to go away (to LOS) for the easter hols so expect prices to be high during that period. now if you were to fly the week before or week after then you would get thai air for £380 direct.

I'm flying to Bangkok on 11th June, marrying there, flying back on 5th July. I got a ticket with Thai Air for £390 which isn't bad. I could have got a cheaper flight with Etihad, but that would have involved a stop at Abu Dhabi.
My problem is getting a ticket for my future wife to return with me on the same flight back. Amazingly, her single trip ticket booked from there would cost as much as my return!
I spoke to the Thai Air office in London and they suggested that she looks on the internet there and researches the cost of a return ticket, as often they cost less than a single! They say that tickets bought in Thailand generally cost less than those bought here.
Does anybody have any info regarding an agency there that might come up with a good deal? I have phoned a couple on Khao San Road, but they tell me that it won't be possible to get a flight to London with Thai Air, either single or return for less than about 28500 baht. They say that tickets bought in the UK cost less than those bought in Thailand!
If that proves to be the case, then I might as well buy a return ticket from here for her and simply not use the outward part of it. At least I'd have an empty seat mext to me and could stretch out.
Any thoughts?

hugh from what I know it is illegal to buy a return knowing your only going one way,
but how would they know you could be sick or something.
phuket air had a promotion for 20 k return gatwick.
but they don't come here now.

So provided that I told Thai Air that my girlfriend was not using her seat, why would it be illegal? Surely by paying for a return ticket, I have purchased that seat on the plane. Whether I choose to use it or not is surely up to me. It seems ridiculous to me that the airline should charge as much for a one way trip to England as they do for a return ticket to Thailand. What do they expect people to do? I told the guy at Thai Air's London office that I might do this and he didn't tell me that it was illegal.
My girlfriend's Aunt's English husband me to take over various English victuals to him. Perhaps I can use her baggage allowance on top of mine too.
