yeah when you return to LOS you just get another 30 day stamp.
I suppose you have checked about visa's needed for other counties that you might visit. You need one for Vietnam before arriving there

in a word YES , you can get a multiple entry Visa from most embassies, which allows you 60 days, - but for longer, you will need to fulfil alot of criteria, e.g. business in thailand, Thai wife/family,or regular income paid into a thai account etc. The trip across the border is not too bad, I often take pals up to Aranyahprahthet-Poipet, - think I posted under Poi-pet in the Thailand/elsewhere forum ... only a 3+ hour drive from Bkk.

... anythings possible, especially in LOS ! " if it feels right - do it " - half a day to go up to a border crossing and back once every 40 days is not to big a deal .... [ even if you just get a 30 day tourist entry stamp - for 500 bt you get a 10 day extension from bangkok office ] - and overstaying is no drama - you just get charged 200 baht per day upon departure -

a 60 day double entry allows you entry for 60 days - twice. It can be extended by 30 days, so you enter for 60 days, extenbd by 30, then leave at border crossing (or get agency to do for you), come back in for 60 days, extend by 30. 180 days - 6 momths in total - cost is about 20 USD
