I got a RT trip ticket from LA to BKK for $670 + tax. Orbitz should have tax included but I always find tickets $200 cheaper through travel agents. Just find one that specializes in Asia. Watch out that your stop is not in one of the SARS infected areas, since that will add considerable time when going through BKK customs. Lastly, Hotwire has the cheapest flights but the flight is a red eye or has too many stops/plane changes. I use it to get a benchmark price so I don't overpay when I get a ticket from another source.

I think Hotwire and Orbitz are the same now, when it comes to international flights.  I was shopping on both, but Hotwire transferred me to Orbitz for whatever reason on the international searches.

On these websites and probably Expedia, they quote you prices expecting you to E-ticket.  That is you have no hard hold onto tickets.  But for international flights there are no E-tickets, so you have to pay for the hard tickets to be produced and sent to you.  On Orbitz it was $25.  It was pretty easy to book the tickets online.  It was more difficult to deal with changes which you cannot do online, and then have to wait to get someone on the phone.

You may want to check the prices over a few days as they can vary.  I've saved over US$150 by pricing itineraries over a few days - on multiple occasions.

I'm inclined to believe there are such things as international e-tickets.  I bought my trip through a travel agent (for the same rate Travelocity was quoting) with nothing but a confirmation number.  My boarding passes were generated at the beginning of each trip and they said "e-ticket" under ticket type.  So maybe orbitz is just screwing with people.

Don't want to thread f_ck, but my friend, retiring from the CDC indicates that no matter what the airlines say about the air being recycled onboard the aircraft, the chances of getting whatever anyone else has onboard are way higher due to traveling and being in the small space.  BTW; I read that the Chinese Gov't is threatening execution for SARS spreaders......
