oh btw... forgot to mention.... that last trip I had also been taking the melatonin for 2 days since before I left home (as the instructions told me to do). Continued taking them even though I didn't feel they were working. Still didn't sleep for 4 days though

Tried getting pissed on the first night?? But seriously I think it is a thing that you can get used to. When I first started travelling I had just the same problems as you. But OK after travelling a lot for a few years. No problems now.

Book a night flight, drop 20mg of valium, a glass of wine, and an hour to relax before sleeping. You sleep like a baby for 9-10 hours, wake refreshed, and all is well

Sure X, I don't have the bottle in front of me but I'll post the mfr.s information and source. I did read the label looking to answer your question last week. Go ahead, call me psychic! And it says it's primarily calcium and melatonin I was speculating if perhaps the calcium binds the melatonin molecule and releases it by chemical rxt. don't have a clue really, just a thought, but I will post back here the label in a day or so. Assuming my tilacs lemme outta bed!

Ouch X!!! Just read the rest of your posts. You got some serious bioliogical clock malingering goin on there woman! LOL that's too many days to suffer. Maybe the mask on the plane bit would do the trick. As for me, I always try to acclimate by hlaves to the new time zone, Something like if it is my usual bedtime back home 4 hours from now and the regular time here (for bed) is about 12 hours from now then I'll split the difference and try to stay up for another 8 then hit it. Does that make any sense? To me it's like straddling zones at the mid point for the first few days. Works for me!

Skip, tell me about it... I think I bring new meaning to the word jetlag. lol. It could make sense what you say about splitting the time difference. I've tried everything else, I may as well try that. Still like to try the natural melatonin remedies (well this time release one) before I surrender myself to the benzodiazepams (sp?). I hate pills. Kev.... I've decided to take sleeping pills with me from now on, but don't think I dare take one on the actual flight. Night flight or day flight, jet lags the same for me.
