OK, Dannyboy, may I be the first not to bust your balls.
The taxi queue might be 10 minutes long. The good news is on my last trip I met a fellow on line who was going to the Majestic, I was staying nearby and we split the fare.
I don't think you'll really save much time by going to Thai limo maybe a couple of minutes.
As far as private limos, it could take longer if they're parked in an out of the way place.
I think the cab will bwe coming from the direction where it's easy to get in front of the Majestic but if for some reason the direction is wrong the corner of Soi 4 or the corner of Soi 3 (and you cross the street) is fine.

Coming from LAX, I just take the 11:55 pm Cathay Pacific flight through Hong Kong and get into BKK at 10:50 am.
Sleeping on the plane dramatically reduces the jetlag.
Plenty of time to get to the Landmark, unpack, get an OM, and creep up on my first BKK evening - 
If only I could figure out how to solve the jetlag going home!

I was thinking that parachuting out of the plane and skipping customs all together may just save a bit of time getting to your hotel, if you ask the flight attendant nicely they may let you jump.
