Actually Yurune that's what I was thinking which is why I asked; on the off chance that that's what Hermes meant I was going to say that I thought it was both out of line and foolish to say such a thing to a taxi driver or anyone for that matter. It doesn't pay to toss around physical threats to Thais (no matter how tough you are). When and if it comes down to it you're better off hitting HARD and getting out of Dodge...

So you were thinking the same huh MrJoe??....Hmmmm...if the delightful Khun Joy has anything close to you going on inside her head I shall be very wary of her from now on.... Actually as I look over at her beaming smile....I can see a glint in her eye this very moment.... Aaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....MRJOE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You've got it wrong mate. If Joy thinks like me, she's the kind of female you want to get closer to! Besides, me and Joy go way back...

Thanks Hermes. It's a mystery to me and my Thai associates. I can't even figure out how it would be pronounced to sound like a Thai word that would apply...hmm. 'Tis a puzzlement. WAIT: I just figured it out! I don't know if this person is confused by what a Thai told her or has written incorrectly waht she meant to say. Tap Sap ( roughly: "word on top" ) is Thai for a word that is English but used by Thais (and for which there is no Thai equivalent)! Like "mee-ter" or "dis-co" etc. The writer really screwed that up. As I was about to explain that the Thais use the English word it came to me.

By the way "Tap Sap" is pronounced with a "short A" somewhere near an O sound but not quite.
