I have known one office girl in bangkok for quite some time now. Very demure and charming. Met her once and we had a great time. After I left, she met a thai whom she slept with on a number of occasions. Today she mailed me saying that she is pregnant (5 days) and that the thai nincompoop has disappeared. She is too scared to tell her parents and doesnt want to approach any hospitals. I am the only person she has confided in. Being thousands of miles away, I have no clue what to suggest. She doesnt want to keep the baby and go through the usual route of being a single mom. Although I am against aborting, I think she might be taking the right decision here. Would any of you know what she can do in this regard, without endangering her life? Any medications that she can take by herself. I have heard about Cytotec, but she hasnt been able to find it in any of the drug store.
'Edit: After much searching, I found some information about The Population and Community Development Association (PDA) on Sukhumvit 12, as well as RU-485 pill. Sent the details to her but still not sure if this pill is available in pharmacies without prescription.'

But just do a google search and you will find some answers,
you may need to tell her the generic name and not a brand name so she can ask a chemist,
Try and help (because its the right thing to do since she asked) but then walk away from it.....
Still wondering how she knows in 5 days.....I do not think the pregnacy test strips work that soon....

Unless under the conditions of rape, incest, serious medical risk for the mother or child, abortion is illegal in Thailand.
One can face up to 2-3 years of jail time and a fine, if your abortion does not fall under one of aforementioned categories.
Just look at muay and howard fiasco.

HCG hormone levels can be detected in urine 3-5 days after fertilisation assuming this was the test commonly bought at a chemist.?
However this does not tell the girl she is 5 days pregnant.....usually 6 -12 days is required for enough hormone to make a positive reading....but 3-5 days in very healthy females is possible if she is also under 22.
Whilst I do smell a rat...she may be saying 5 days as the reading is very weak.
Or she may just be late 5 days (period )
I accept she may be pregnant and just very worried.?
Give her this benefit of the doubt perhaps, then see if money is asked for?
She can under gestation periods of 21 days take a medicine to abort.
Look into the best ones available.
I would also take note of the possibility others have raised....but keep in mind it's also reasonable for her to just be worried and seeking some imput.
If you don't encounter any financial burdens it is ok to assist in practical ways.
I have had several experiences with girls falling pregnant, sometimes claiming it was mine.
Once an ultra sound showed it wasn't.
Twice the girl admitted it wasn't in other cases.
Once it was but I took the abort option.
There is no real moral obligation for you to be directly involved.
Be friendly helpful and supportive would be my advice, but don't buy into further obligations.
If she does indeed keep it and your called on that is a matter for you alone to decide upon.....not others who claim to know best.
