So how about free calls between US and Thailand from any phone? Just signed up with Jajah.

http://www.jajah.com

VOIP calls that do not require any software to install, and calls can be made from any phone to any phone.

No sign up charge. No monthly charge. Just add credits to your account by credit card, etc.

Only requirement is that you have access to the Jajah web page to enter the number of the phone you want to place the call from and the number of the phone you wish to call. This can be from any computer, PDA, or phone that has internet access and you have access to at the time you want to call.

When you click call, both your phone and the phone you are calling ring.

Only a local call on each end. VOIP between the local phone companies.

Both Intel and Deutsche Telecom have invested in Jajah.

Best part is that calls (both landline and mobile) between US and Thailand are free between Jajah users. The only charges might be any local minutes, etc. that you are charged by your phone provider.

If you call a number that is not registered to a Jajah user to/from US and Thailand, the rate is 0.045 USD to a land line phone and 0.044 USD to a mobile number.

Other locations where all calls to/from Thailand between Jajah users are free include Canada, China, Singapore, Hong Kong.

For most of Europe and for Australia, user to user calls to land lines are free but to mobiles are not.

You can't get much cheaper than free. (Just got to sign up all those Thai girlfriends.)
