hello, I was wonder if in Thailand there is any universal phone function that blocks the incoming # from showing up on the TG's cell phone
for example in the US if you dial like *49 it will block your # from being seen on caller ID
I want to call a TG when i'm there but have her think im in the US does anyone have a solution

I don't think this is possible with a mobile phone. But if you have a calling card like an AT&T card, you might try dialing the access number, then after your enter your card number, it asks you the number to call, try entering the number as if you were calling it from the USA (like 011-66-x-xxx-xxxx). When I did this (or course for Tyler Durdin, for exactly the same reason as you), it did not transmit the caller id. Try a test call to a mobile of a friend, just to make sure.

Alternativley I had an experience with guys that didnt want me to know where it was they were. They would naughtily go to a hotel lobby, and give a quick story that they wanted to suprise me, "'was there a phone that didnt list the number/ country they could use? With the intension of booking the hotel once confirmed she was there. A small tip, and the staff were eager to assist. He would then apoligize and say well I had better wait til she flies back here first, thank you for allowing me to call. How do I know? He told me long after we were just friends and split up. I would image you could do this routine twice daily for a few days, and like me she would suspect nothing. Ofcourse the first tuk tuk noise, or asian sounding accent and the game is up, so choose hotels off the street, where all staff speak clear english and have a friend speak loud english over everything in the background to another, and make it quick. But I dare say, you will be caught.

Can anyone please tell me what mobile phone service in Thailand uses 06 872xxxx prefix. I'm having troble sending sms from the US and thought I might try the phone service web page. Thanks

All euro cell phones as in Nokia, Semens, Sony Erricson, all have "No Number send options" it will be in your call settings menu. I have a Sony Erricson and a Nokia and I use 1-2 call whilst in Thialand and the option is there still as it is a Hand set option not a user network option. Hope this helps. Hows buying the beers

UK Shaga- Doing that trick on a 1-2-call phone will result in the phone call not going through. I've never seen it work.
