isn't iPhone 4 capable of 4G, but they just didn't announce this in North America since the supporting 4G systems were not prepared for it ?
They are announcing 4G LTE from Verizon as if it's better than regular 4G, but from what I understand it's the poor man's version of 4G

A mainland Chinese teenage girl has been caught on Weibo in the act of selling her virginity — for a white iPhone 4.
The girl has been identified by Hong Kong's branch of NextMedia as only surnamed Wen (pictured right), from Maoming city of south China's Guangdong province. She stated in her post that her "valuable first night" — which literally means 'virginity' in Chinese — was worth the gifting of a white iPhone 4, which retails in China for RMB 4,999 for the 16-gigabyte model.
The girl, Wen, then gave out her QQ number, and encouraged young men to contact her if they were serious about the deal.
Of course, it's possible that this is a publicity stunt by a young woman who's keen to become famous. Come to think of it, that might actually be preferable to someone selling their body in some way in exchange for a soon-to-be-obsolete gadget.

Details leak out about iPhone 5

New York - It's only a few months until the newest generation of iPhone hits stores and details about its features are slowly leaking out.
According to the usually well-informed Wall Street Journal, the fifth iteration of the best-selling smartphone will be thinner than its predecessor and have an eight-pixel - not five - camera. The paper quoted Apple's suppliers, since the company does not manufacture the iPhone itself.
Two weeks ago, the Bloomberg news agency had reported about the improved camera, as well as about a faster processor. Apple has remained, as usual, mum about its new product, refusing to comment. But the Wall Street Journal says the new phone will be released in this quarter. Bloomberg, citing informed sources, reported September.
Speculation has been ongoing for months about when the successor to the hugely successful iPhone 4 might hit stores. Until now, new models have been released around midyear, meaning the iPhone 5 is behind schedule.
But Bloomberg reported that Apple wanted to wait until its new iOS5 operating system was ready to go. That's been promised for the autumn.
However, the Wall Street Journal reports that the iPhone 5 is especially complicated to build, because it's so thin. That could also lead to delays.
The iPhone 4 was already thinner than the 3GS. The new iPhone will also reportedly include a new wireless chip from Qualcomm. Until now, those chips have been produced by Infineon. Officially, Apple has made no comments about its supplier. Infineon has sold its wireless chip business to Intel, which is getting into smartphones. If the company has indeed lost its contract, that would be a big blow.
There were 18.7 million iPhones sold in the first quarter of 2011 and sales expectations are very high for the new phone, reported the Wall Street Journal, citing an informed source.
Projections are for sales of 25 million units by the end of 2011.//DPA

I don't see why everyone treats specs on the next iPhone as so hard to come by - just look at what happened when iPad 1 (which had the same internal specs as iPhone 4), went to iPad 2...
Faster dual-core A5 processor. Gee, ya think?
New, faster graphics processor, same as iPad 2. No, really?
Upgraded camera - maybe, though the present 5 megapixel takes better pictures than most 8-10 megapixel smartphones.
Thinner? Maybe. More likely for next year.
What *will* be far bigger news, is that it will be a true World Phone, with both GSM and CDMA capabilities (so could work on TRUE, AIS, and... Hutch), as well as *ALL* carriers in the USA..
.. which will make life so much harder for RIM (blackberry), Windows/Nokia, and of course Android (though Android will be just fine - any marketshare losses will come from RIM and Nokia, the gains to be split between iOS and Android.
