My graphic Designer just asked me to buy a DELL PC, I Was expecting him to order a MAC but he said, no need, same same.

Should I be worried? is the guy a Moron?
Not everyone covets high quality work. If you're satisfied with the level of quality he churns out for you, then get him what he wants.

Your above $1000 market is very small in terms of units sold.........lolol, and Apple isn't the leader in that range either.....lol.
Right, I guess 91% marketshare of that above $1,000 PCs market does not mean 'leader'.

http://www.betanews.com/joewilcox/article/Apple-has-91-of-market-for-1000-PCs-says-NPD/1248313624

http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-9947501-37.html

The point being that Apple concentrates on PROFIT, and not so much marketshare (albeit it cleaned up in the above $1000 segment), which is why they are sitting on nearly $40 billion in cash, and are having record PROFITS every quarter, while every other computer maker is losing money, or squeaking by.

Worthwhile reading the NPD report (albeit you won't, since you prefer to make up your 'facts')

Apple's 10k annual report filed with the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) showed Laptops at a 9% gain in sales over last year, BUT the same report showed a 23% drop in desktop sales from last year. Giving a negative figure compared to last year as far as total computer sales go.

The only think that kept Apple in the black was not computer sales, but Ipod, And IPhone sales. Their under $1000 products. They even stated that 75% of their new computer sales in the last year were requested intel based units running Windows, compared to last year when the number was 45%.

They atribute much of their computer loss to the advent of the cheap netbook computers running the Atom N270, and N280 processors with Windows XP.

So as far as real facts, quit reading the Apple payed for hype, and go to where the real numbers are reported, under stiff penalties for false reporting.........lolol.

That there was a drop in desktops wasn't so surprising.

The overall trend is that many people shift from desktops to laptops...

I wouldn't exactly call Psystar 'free' or 'open source', considering that they are about to be shut down by Apple for violating several laws.

As for koolbreez, you just go ahead and keep believing what you will -- the numbers I'm looking at are just as accurate, what speaks volumes is that Apple's got nearly $40 billion in cash in the bank, and makes an extra $1+ billion in raw profits every quarter

Q4 - $9.87 billion in revenue / $1.67 billion net profit
(up from $7.9 billion revenue / $1.14 billion net profit)

Q3 - $8.34 billion in revenue / $1.23 billion net profit)
(up from $7.46 billion revenue / $1.03 billion net profit)

Q2 - $8.16 billion in revenue / $1.21 billion net profit)
(up from $7.51 billion revenue / $1.05 billion net profit)

Q1 - $10.17 billion in revenue / $1.61 billion net profit)
(up from $9.6 billion revenue / $1.58 billion net profit)

That means that in FY2009 Apple has generated $36.54 billion worth of revenue, or which $5.72 billion was pure profit. Up from FY2008, $32.47 billion revenues, and profit of $4.8 billion. Basically, they made nearly a billion dollars more profit in 2009, than in 2008 -- a year that the world, allegedly, was battling a recession.

What you fail to do by looking at a single quarter, is that Apple structures their sales across the entire year, making up for one products quarterly drops in sales, by pushing another product in their line with regular refreshes. Thus, with the refreshed iMac lines, you will see a surge in desktop sales, and with people expecting a new iPhone in june/july, you will see the appearance of a drop in iPhone sales starting around March. People like yourself fail to look at the big picture, spread across the entire year, or across 2-3 years - but that's okay, it's no skin off my back.

Good link and read Jingjo. I didn't realise Apple Macs were such a joke, and over-priced to boot. I will steer well clear of them on future purchases

When is the idiotic discussion about PC's and Mac's going to end?

This discussion has been on for years and has been discussed by millions of people.

There is no right, there is no wrong.

NEVER!

Israel and Arabs will live in peace and harmony before the Mac vs. PC jihad comes to a close.

It's religious, don't you know
