I've just seen an ad for 590B/month 256/128 Kbps ADSL from CS Loxinfo. Does anyone have any experience of this service?

No, but did have TRUE (same price). Good value, although I've heard less-than-good things about now many people have joined and overload the network.

Dudes! I would think in a city as packed as Bangkok, getting "free" broadband would be as easy as it is in the USA? Why not just get a good A/B/G card and a directional antenna, and hunt for unsecured access points?
Am I missing something here?

True ADSL starts from 590 Baht for 512/256 (so it is not the same price as Dr. Love said since it is a faster package) and goes to 4096/512 for 2550 Baht, all unlimited. We have upgraded the international links to 759 Mbit from 320 Mbit when the promotion started and still upgrading, at the end of the year it will be 1 Gbit.
It slows down in the evenings, as with most providers.
But other then that, the people I had contact with from this board where overall happy with it. One guy uses a VoIP hardware with it and says it works just fine, he might care to comment on that...

It seems you know more than the website information.
BTW I noticed that the minimum subscription term is now one year instead of 6 months and advanced payment is required.
Free modem though until November 5.

Sorry, I had some new promotion infos in my email that came from Marketing last week, you are right, we have not yet changed the smalles package to 512/256. If I would not know more tehn the website info it would be sad anyway 
The advanced payment of 2 months is only required if you make use of the free modem promotion and there only for the 3 smallest packages but not for the 2,5 - 3 or 4 Mbit package. Other then that, you pay your monthly bills as they arrive.
Also do not forget that the prices on the website do NOT include the 7% VAT yet.

yeah, well I can't stay current on all topics since they have obviously made changes without informing all departments, but these promotions are outdated soon anyway as there are a few even better ones to come before december.

Actually the slowing down is becuase in the evening the number of people who use the service increases extremely since the people come home from work and the students come home from school. And other than that, you get what you pay for, the mentioned speed is always from your computer into the true network and not to the final destination, but there is no way to guarantee a fixed speed with these services, if you want a guaranteed speed, you need to take a business package, plenty available from all providers.
