Some quiet evenings at home here in BKK I spend browsing this online encyclopedia for research purposes or whimsy. Even moreso now that youtube is blocked.
But now wikipedia seems to be blocked or down too. Anyone got any news about this?

Wikpedia is one of the most popular sites around, but they're not so wealthy as, say, Google. So they struggle hard to keep their servers up to speed with the number of visits.
So if you get "timed out" during peak hours, I would not be surprised.

Could it be that your ISP's cache engine (or whatever the powers that be use to block whatever they want and potentially would allow them to keep track of whatever you do on the web, at least if it's unencrypted) is screwing up? Would not be the first time this happens...

Thanks for your replies, guys. I think erikE probably had the answer, as I can now access it, though I couldn't for a couple days. Researching it, I found a few times over the years Wiki had been down temporarily for what looked to me like that kind of problem. Well, I'm back on the info highway now, so thanks again.
Just to be on the safe side, I'll clean out cookies etc again with a cleaning program. Never hurts to do so often.
