I'll dole out a free tip to interested parties:

http://gigaom.com/apple/apple-spending-big-next-year-on-retail-and-cloud/

Read Horace Dediu’s take on these expenditures, and how they correlate strongly to iOS unit sales. Apple is implicitly forecasting another year of 100 percent iOS unit sales growth in 2012.

http://www.asymco.com/2011/10/27/the-tipping-hand-of-production-how-apple-foreshadows-ios-volumes/

I'm sure you can figure out what that will translate to in terms of stock price by end of next fiscal year..?

Now, what's entertaining is that there are certain economic geniuses on this board that will, point blank, refuse any such advice, because it comes from me... and that's just fine, because to be perfectly honest, I wouldn't want the Smegmas, China Sailors, snparks, etc... of the world to get in on this anyway (if they even could, that is)

... and to the smart folks on this forum... You're welcome!

good on ya, I trust you're using an XXXL calculator with widely spaced keys, to help you calculating your finances

fwiw, ordered today through Apple store a black 4S 16GB, should be with me by mid november. I understand that unlike the USA version, here in Blighty Siri has a male voice and limited facilities. Any developer out there able to come up with Thai female voice speaking in Thinglish? It'll be a laugh. After all in Singapore, Sing Tel carrier has come up a voice recognition app for iOS and Android that understands local singlish

Just waiting for my local Apple store to get the unlocked 4s models in stock.

Somewhat disappointed that the UK choice for the voice is not a female. Sure, there's that British butler concept, but I find female British voices are simply sexier. My navigon has the UK voice selected for that reason

Bear in mind, Siri is in beta, and constant development - Apple has already confirmed that additional voices will be added, and I'm sure eventually Siri will support all languages that iOS supports (and I am absolutely convinced that Siri will eventually appear on iPhone 4 and iPad 2 as well).

Another feature I am absolutely certain will eventually show up, is on the fly translation via Siri. Patience.

apparently one can change voice in Siri settings, choose language of your choice. The only problem US one expects an American accent, making it slightly more difficult to understand you. I'm told the aussie version is a Sheila, lol. I'll see when I get the phone. On a side note, I can't even to start to comprehend a phone locked to a carrier and horror of all horrors a phone, any phone, with a carrier logo!

THere's no carrier logo on AT&T iPhones, even if they are locked to AT&T. They give you a $500 subsidy in return for being stuck for 2 years. Not a good bargain, to me.

Inherently, I don't mind carriers doing that, as long as they unlock the phone at the end of the subsidy period - AT&T will unlock any other phones you use, just not iPhones.

There's plenty of issues I have with AT&T - hopefully, around 2013 I will be able to get rid of them.

buy your own phone and you wouldn't have to put up with "plenty of issues" any longer than a single day. Plus you'd be able to use a Thai sim card or an other 3G sim card. Apple is one of the few, if not the only one, that doesn't allow carriers' branding, all others do, with some manufacturers giving exclusive deals on some models.
