I had just returned from a trip to Bangkok and Pattaya While at the airport, with plenty of time to spare, I decided to adjust some of the settings on my digital camera ( Canon IXUS 970 )...... while doing so, I accidentally pressed the "Format" button and all the few hundred photos stored in the memory card was totally deleted Is there any way that I can recover those "deleted" photos, eg from the "Recycle Bin" as in our PC Looking forward to advice from those tech-savvy BTF members Thanks !

I have seen several programs that purport to recover information from digital storage media. Do a Google search using "recover digital photos" and you will get numerous hits. One that I saw was free (although I don't know if just free to download or free to actually use) : http://www.artplus.hr/adapps/eng/dpr.htm Note: I haven't used any of these.

I have used this for several years and been very very pleased with the results.... Granted, only used for HDD recovery but this is one of the oldest and most trusted names in the data recovery space... http://www.ontrackdatarecovery.com/

They have not been deleted - the card's pointers have been reset. The data is still there, just not directly accessible.

Look here: http://www.datarescue.com/ It'll get your pics back, as long as you haven't started writing new data on the data card...

Download the trial version and see if you can see the data on your card before you pay for it. I can't vouch for it as I have not bought it myself. Have not encountered a reason to use it yet.
