Limited time only, but here's the deal:
2.5 baht per minute on phones calls and 2 baht per SMS.
Get it by sending a blank SMS to 77705. They will send back 3! SMS's to you and one you've got the third one, you are (dare I say?) good to go!
Be aware that this will set the expiry date of your current balance to 15 days rather than the typical 90, so it may not be for everyone. But if you can use up your existing balance before 15 days is over, it might be the go.
(No, I don't know what happens if you recharge your account after signing up...)

I believe this is the Freedom Plus plan. If so, every time you put in 300 baht in top-up, you get 15 additional days instead of the usual 30 you get with the normal plan. For frequent users, it can save a lot of money. Even for one-time visitors, it can give you a lot more calls for your baht with no downside.

What?
I thought that the 300 baht credit expires within 15 days INSTEAD of the normal 30 days, but the costs of call is 2.5 baht per minute.
So you get more minutes (100% extra) but have to spend it in less time...
Well at least that's what I understood from CG. Correct me if I am wrong...
Furthermore, what I believe is that when you topup after signing up, your current balance is reset to 0.

I signed up by calling the 1-2-call Call Center. I have been on it for a few months, one of my sweeties told me about it first (no not you, VJ). What I know for sure about Freedom Plus is:
- when I signed up (2 mos ago), it reset my expiration date to 15 days from the date I signed up. This is important to know before you sign up for this, as you will "lose" all the expiry time you have built up!
- when I signed up, it retained my existing balance
- my calls are 2.5 baht/min
- when I top up with a 300 baht card, I get 15 days extension on my expiration
- I was told you could come off the promotion if you wanted, just call them
- I remember being told that there a maximum length your expiration date can be extended to (maybe 90 days from your last top up?) My expiry on my credits is now April 9
- I signed up by calling 1175 and talking to someone (who sounded hot, I wonder if she would go with me?!)
Also, I can verify the present rate for Int'l calls from my mobile phone (a One-2-Call chip) :
1. When dialing 001-CountryCode-PhoneNumber (for the USA, I would dial something like 001-1-305-xxx-xxxx), the normal rate to the US is 22B/min (30B/min to the UK), but there is a promotion running through 31/3/04 where calls to the US are 9B/min (16B/min to the UK).
A 50 minute call saves me 600B (enough for a barfine). So I try to talk to the USA for 50 minutes each day, and then I get a free barfine courtesy of One-2-call! Maybe they should promote it like this. 
2. When dialing 009-CountryCode-PhoneNumber (for the USA, I would dial something like 009-1-305-xxx-xxxx), the rate to the US is 16B/min.
3. I have no idea what the rate is for calling the US by dialing +1-305-xxx-xxxx, I always use 001 as above.
I don't know whether these rate are because I am on the Freedom Plus or they are normal rates for any One-2-call phone. If you want more information, just call the One-2-Call Call Center at 0-2271-9000 and they will answer all of your questions. They speak English.

When you sign up, your old expiration date is not valid anymore and it will be reset to 15 days from today. So if you signed up right now, your new expiry date for your balance would be March 15, 2004. If you are not going to top up, on average, every 15 days, this program is not for you.
For me, it is good because it allows call DrLove for local information and pimping services and talk for twice as long!

CG has a point -- this program may not be for everybody. But there is a dodge available.
There are now some cellular shops where you don't purchase a refill card; instead, you tell them the phone number and the refill amount and they punch it into the computer for you.
The discount program may have a minimum recharge amount to extend the expiration date, but if low enough, say 50 baht, you could just have a friend go recharge your phone every 15 days while you're out of the country. If you're out of the country 6 months, you can keep your phone number and return with a balance of, as above, 600 baht.
This presuming they don't expire your balance if no outgoing activity occurs.

I'd very much appreciate any info on this problem. I have a pay-as-you-go 1 2 call 07 number which expires on 10th April. Is there any way that I can recharge this from outside Thailand to extend the expiry date by one month ? The important thing for me is to keep the same number for immediate use on next arrival in Thailand. I can accept the loss of the time I already paid for if I have to.
