hk guy,, I do NOT think it would be pertinant to give exact details of the arrangements in this forum.
Instead of bitching why don't you get pro-active and contact a good lawyer,,, say, maybe, possibly, perhaps, Sunbelt Asia maybe.
They are NOT cheap but come highly recommended from this forum.

I don't know if this is a wind-up,,,, AHH yep it has to be a wind-up.

HK guy, if you spent that much money I suggest you get out of the deal,, tell me what you have and MY COMPANY will buy it from you and perhaps I will think about renting it out to you at a very unreasonable rate.


Being the generous guy I am, my company will also consider employing you ( on a results based contract ) which will allow you to get 6 month visas. This has got to be worth maybe 2,000BHT per month???

AHH hkguy,,, there is a more simple alternative,,, ahhh assuming you are married to a Thai,,,, buy it in her name but lend her the money
The deal could be set such that she owes you the full amount plus say 10% interest per annum, example, property purchased for 100,000,000 BHT, loan of 100,000,000BHT from you to her,,,12 month contract ( saves you waiting if things go wrong) at end of 12 months she owes you 110,000,000 BHT, new agreement states interest WAIVED,, 12 month agreement she owes you 100,000,000BHT at 10% etc etc etc.
You have effective control of the property without ownership ( as such).

This is just ONE scenario I came up with and I have ZERO ZIP excperience in legalities.

Well, what if the thai wife sells house, gives the money too her mother, and then what you do?

-Whatever you do she can just be running for bankruptcy, and what you get then? Nothing!

But offcourse her familly has approx: 100.000.000 Baht

I can think of a few scenarios to set up a way too be on the right side of the new law, but offcourse, if everybody does it, the laws will change again!

Also they can make a mission statement that could be used in a higher court too take the property away from an alien no matter how he has done the legal setup.

kurt,,,, A caveate?? (spelling) would be attached to the land ( i.e cannot be sold until debt cleared).

As for the law changing that is the way the world works and the evil reason for the need of solicitors

Any "mission statement" would be widely advertised and appropriate shifts in ownership details administered by your solicitors.

Ultimately Thailand will need to open it's doors to greater foreign investment, it may take a few more years but soon enough foreign ownership of land will be available without all this mucking around.
