Recently I walked by a pub on the basement level of the Landmark hotel. I peeked inside and discovered that the band was from the Philippines. Is this common in Thailand? Are Filipinos here for entertainment, similar to how they're in the Middle East and Japan? Do they also work at other places like clubs, bars, discos, massage, etc?

Most of the Philippinnas I chatted up in the Huntsman are there for the band and dancing, not for P4P.
I do not understand the question anyway. You come to Thailand for Thai P4P. Philippinna P4P is generally found in the Phillipines.
If you really want both then try Orchard Towers in Singapore...

I don't come to thailand for p4p. I come here for work. Not everything revolves around getting pussy. I assumed that the Huntsman was a legit place not a whore bar, hence the original discussion/question.

The occasional Filipina girls at the Huntsman Pub are definitely there to hear the Filipino band, not for P4P. It's unlikely you'd be able to hook up with any of them, be careful if you try. Those girls are usually someone's wife/gf and making a move on one can get some major grief from her significant other.
