I'm in Sathorn in the Thai ghetto off Thanon Chan about a 40 baht taxi, 20 baht moto to Skytrain, 50 baht taxi to Patpong but I am paying 5,000.....Big room refrig, tv, betd sofa, closet, bath and small balcony. Basically a hotel room and maid service available, good food vendors, banks, barbers all much cheaper that Suk area.
It may not be exactly what you are looking for but if you want but you could add 5-10 Lt's per month with the savings. Plus lot's of cute locals and chinese chicks around. They all know my wife so I am screwed.
Probably not but if your interested but let me know if I can help. I can ask for monthly quote expect slight increase as I am on 6 month....

I'm in "Sathorn Saint view Serviced Apartment" Soi 17 (Soi Roong Nham Kaeng) you can also access the apartment from Soi 15.
24sq. - Baht 8000/- plus 6/- baht electricity and 18/- baht water per unit.
This is the monthly charge
5 minutes walk to BTS Surasak. Guest friendly.

As I am living here on long term employment, I do have to consider the cost factor
Andy I didn't mentioned this earlier as I thought about the cheapest room available.
They do have 34 sq for 12,000/- and more. All other necessary amenities and do accept credit cards.

There are loads of non serviced apartments available. Depends what you want.
When I first moved to Bkk I stayed in a 1 BR apt in On-nut soi14 (I think). They wanted me to sign a 6 month lease but I only wanted 4 months. I just agreed to pay a little bit more each month. 9,000Bt a month (50m2) for a functional, clean place.
I know several TG's who stay in single room (28m2) accommodation off Ekkamai (soi 30/32) and Suk 71 (soi 23?) for 3-4000Bt /month. Not sure what the minimum lease period is but this is Thailand & everything is negotiable.

I think I should pick up one these on nut or ekamai places at these prices and use it as a permenant hotel room. Just a bed, fan and the same soap I and the wife use at home (Thanks BK)
Or I'll just keep using PB, I do love the chairs and the beds.....
any recomedations for this setup.....anyone got one of these set up....

hi wicky, i've looked at the Sathorn Saint & liked it, roof top pool a plus but it appears to seldom every have a vacancy, is there any month you notice apts available, low season? oh, the miami is more than 10k

Hi don, yes it is very difficult to get a room specially now the high season started.
Best time is the beginning of the low season. But I might be able to let you know if any room available, can you im your contact info.
I think you can get the 24sq. room for 7000/- if you can sign a 6month lease with them.
