During my March visit to Cambodia I stayed at the Ankor International Hotel on street 148. Not bad for $20 a night with a decent view and okay room. Only problem I had was the last day when I woke for an early flight to no water in the bathroom. I figured just like everywhere else that there was some type of water problem so no biggie. When they came to pick up my bags I mentioned there was no water and the guy asked me to wait a few minutes while he took off upstairs. He came back and said it should be on now. WTF? They turn it off every night apparently.

I payed 15 dollars per night in the same hotel, was told the room "whitout view" (no window) were 10 dollars per night...
Did you get any "special" room or is it a "hight season rate" you payed?
By the way, reception is happy to provide fresh towels on request and was genuinely surprised when I tipped them 1 dollar for this service

Madfrog, I think you are correct. LastSurvivor had a "Special" room arranged by his taxidriver I guess. Who ofcourse from the bottom of his heart did NOT f*** him over and did NOT collect the $5 a night LS stayed there after he left.
I also had a choice of $10 for no window and $15 with window. But I was there on Valentine's day and half the country was visiting PP. So rooms where limited.
I was also very happy with the people behind the receptiondesk. They were very friendly and helpful. And I know I amazed them more then once. They saw me go up with 1 girl at one time and with 4 or 5 the next. They thought I was some kind of sex god. The fact that sometimes the sister and girlfriends of my girl came along that were absolutely not interested in sex was a small fact I never explained ofcourse. Mostly because it was never asked. So you could say I had some extra fun watching their faces.
