------------------------------------------------------------------- Seems pretty inclusive to me. Niteries and eateries equate to restaurants and bars in my book. ------------------------------------------------------------------ So it would be a hard battle to satisfy your addiction. Well, you could perhaps go to a supermarket and sit on the pavement with your alcoholic beverage. Or try non-alcoholic beverages before 6 ..... Won't hurt . I am addicted to soda water for a lot of years now ... But I do have good news for you ... as with almost everything illegal in Thailand this law will be likely forgotten after APEC.

Likely another case of Trink having his head up his ass... I'm not sure the guy even does any actual field work anymore. ÝI have seen no evidence of any new restrictions related to alcholic beverages. ÝHowever, the weekday opening times for MPs are definitely real; I have not been able to locate a single exception. One owner told me the entire market had an "understanding" with the authorities that they would abide by the 6pm opening hours in order to forestall more draconian measures. ÝI don't see any changes until after APEC at the earliest....

Closed 2pm til 6pm ? APEC Once a slippery slope like this has started who knows where it will end? I am not talking about the fun times we go there for ! This mentality spreads to other areas. They will be taking a leaf out of the Saudi Book of Social rules next ?

Yep, the Plymouth Brethren are firmly in control. We just have to make the best of things. I'm off to Patpong in an hour's time for one of the new prayer meetings. It's not quite the same as before, obviously, but just as enjoyable in its own way. Sexy, too, if you approach it in the right frame of mind - on a lucky night, there's still the occasional glimpse of ankle to be had. Ý Ý

OK....Where are you glimpsing ankles, Arcadius? The new "knee-high boot" craze has made ankles an endangered species, not to mention calves... This boot fetish maybe goes along with some of facist undertones circulating...?? I don't follow the logic of covering up what is (in most cases) one of the best features of the Thai female. One of the waitresses in Tilac told me it is a house rule there, enforced by the boss. Like the taste of the dancers can't be trusted? Or there is a "percentage of flesh covered" measurement being applied by the cops?? What the f_ck, over?

Correct, some bars do enforce boots. Let's call it uniformity .... Has nothing to do with the cops ... Some bars even require the girls to wear black or white on certain days. Even some of the girls have to buy boots themselves.

They definitely have to buy their own gear... that's pretty universal. I've asked a lot of BGs and most of them are convinced the damn things are "sexy". Go figure....
