Traveling to Africa, Latin America, the US or Europe for sex, cheap or not, holds little appeal for me either. I wouldn't be living here if I didn't think Thai providers are the cutest girls in the world.

I do not see the added value of these "political" comments on a thread about Carousel!

Word amongst the ladies is that the Carousel Bar will be opening up shortly, hopefully next month, maybe the 5th. under a new owner/manager, quite possibly retaining its former name. I really do hope it does, as the third floor is practically dead at the moment and that doesn't give a good feeling with it hovering and looming over all the rest of the bars like some bad omen for the future of Nana. If it does go ahead, I sincerely hope that it will be as raunchy and raw as before if not more so by availing itself of its altitude advantage. Let's wait and see.

"I really do hope it does, as the third floor is practically dead at the moment and that doesn't give a good feeling with it hovering and looming over all the rest of the bars like some bad omen for the future of Nana." I was told several times recently that NANA was sold so all the gogo will "soon" close... NANA would be gone soon. Any info on this? Most of the girls (+ 1 Mama) from old Carousel now work for DC10

Assessment of 15th.January entry.............. "............Definitely, just as the entire p4p business in Thailand is dying and/or becoming more restricted. This is a natural consequence of the rising standard of living in Thailand generally..........". .........just doesn't ring true. The rich may have become richer and the gap between the rich and the poor certainly even wider, but if you consider the employment opportunities of now compared to 10 or 15 years ago and the level of starting salaries for Thais, not much has changed at all,in fact a lot of it is exactly the same as before. Just because people own a mobile phone or can handle the basics of computers or can sport a fake brand name hand-bag is no indication that the standard of living has improved. Yes, food and petrol and transportation and other charges are more expensive, but that doesn't mean that the standard of living is any higher at all. In fact, for the lower income levels of society, people have been going without or cutting down and generally tightening their belts. So, no, I don't think P4P is dying here. The Thais alone keep it very healthy indeed, let alone the Japanese and other Asians. As for the attempts to change the international image of Thailand by restrictions in access for foreigners and the closure of venues for tourists such as the dear old brief life of Clinton Plaza, well, that's another matter. But it doesn't reflect a lesser need for ladies to 'work'. And I can't see Pattaya being shut down over night or anytime soon. One has to remember that tourism and its 'associated industries' have in the past accounted for 6% of the GNP and that is not a small sum to be sneezed at by any government. Sorry Carousel. As you were..................
