And I think a fair few of them are looking for any group of people to blame. I don't think Japanese have the franchise on high prices; I've met a few white guys here who think nothing of holding court and spending 10k in a night.
I say...bring on the spending.  Let's ramp those prices up to minimum 2k.

The all time farang favorite Long Gun SUCKS BIG TIME. I tried to enter with a mix of thais and farangs but they only allow the farangs in and denied entry to our thai friends.

Why would I want to go somewhere where I am not welcomed and valued as a customer? Especially in BKK where so many places love to have me there!

Money talks and BS walks.
They are in business to make money.
Have you tried pulling out a thick wad of 1000THB bills and handing a 500 note to the man ?
I bet that works at at least half the places on Thaniya.
I may try it one evening and will let you know.
But I suspect one can get into 80% or more of these places with a flash of cash.

This thread is interesting but I feel there's a whole lot of misconceptions and some latent racism at work. I'm someone that could easily pass as Japanese. In fact most girls think I am Japanese (and next guess Singaporean, and next guess Thai (lol) ) when they first see me. Even the ones who were under the first impression that I was Japanese have never tried to quote me an outlandish price. I've had ONE girl who tried to quote me something absurd and that was at Siam hotel during a night when there were practically more punters than girls. If you're curious she wanted 3000 for LT, she was pretty cute and i'm sure someone might have paid that but i'm also a massive cheapskate.
Not all girls are just out to soak Japanese guys and that's not necessarily why they are preferred. That attitude is rooted in myth and a bit of prejudice. I've gotten to know a girl well who used to work in an MP with heavy Japanese clientele. She said that Japanese customers were better because they tended to be polite and accomodating to the girl. Plus a lot of Japanese guys treat the girls more like dates or hostesses back home rather than a f***/suck machine. The incidences of abuse were also nearly zilch with Japanese men. On the otherhand you can't say the same positive things about a lot of other nationalities whether western or eastern.
I wouldn't mind cruising with a real Japanese punter sometime just to see how they do it. At the apartment I was staying at there were quite a few younger Japanese guys staying there and they had some seriously hot girlfriends. So apparently some of them are doing something right and I don't think it's all based on money either.

I agree with modusoperandi. It has to do with their personality. I have many Japanese friends since childhood back in Danmark. Later my family moved around to Sweden, Brazil, Nederlands, Singapore ect, everywhere I went to I make quite many Japanese friends. Now in BKK, some of my best pals are Japanese that we play golf and tennis together all the time. They are almost all very honest, very puntual, very gentle, and super polite.
These are the characters that appeal to the ladies. Not only because of money. And with Japanese the girls think they have much less risk of been abused or cheated.
Now the Japanese have started to monger in eastern Europe in Poland, Czech, Rumania, Hungary ect. I recently went on trip to Warsaw, Poland. Went to many top end hostess bars and most of the hottest babes were all booked by Japanese businessmen. The very top girls of these Warsaw clubs and also top escort girls that cost at least 200 Euros up also pick Japanese customers as their favorites. They told me the same thing as I and modusoperandi pointed out. Polite, gentle, honest, and very low risk. So I think these are the major reasons for them to be favorite customers probably around the globe.

I think one of the reasons some bars don't allow Thai males through their portal is that they are worried about undercover cops, (in the show bars anyway).

I don't disagree with what some of you guys have to say ie that money talks. No problem I tend to tip well anyway.
But it is the principle. Why should I HAVE to. Does a Japanese guy have to do so to get into the Office on Soi 33? Or into "Thai" or "Chinese" establishments. No. And neither do I. So why should I have to in Thaniya. This is Bangkok not f***ing Tokyo.
My point is that I have never been refused entry anywhere else in Thailand, India, Philippines, China, etc. because it was for a particular race only. It stinks.
