Uhm, everything I can find on the web points towards 165-170 cm. The younger generations are definitely starting to push the average up but I can't see the average as being that tall yet. Got a source?

day be4 600 baht day after 600 baht, why would anyone in their right mind pay 1000 baht.
i can see 1k for new years for a big farung holiday but not for a thai holiday. to foreigners a big thai holliday is no big deal...... no offense to thai people.

Well most people want a free market economy but only when it is advantageous to them. In a free market the price is based upon supply and demand. Their seems to be a demand so the Rainbow girls are getting top baht. It it probably those crazy Japanese. How dare them,maybe they should be nuked again.

I have very fond memories of Rainbow 4; took a girl from there last May and had a great experience for B2,300 or somewhere around there (for a LT). Came back a few days later and took her ST to a nearby ST hotel; she was happy with B1,000.

Now, I hate double-posting, but I think this one deserves a special mention. It's an excerpt from my FR found in the BKK Reports section. I don't want anyone to go through a similar experience, so caveat emptor.
"Decided to finish the evening at Rainbow 1 at the NEP. I carefully scanned the girls gyrating on the stage, and settled for the most wild-looking girl. Her name was Pi and I believe her number was 124 (but don't hold me to it). She had East Asian features rather than the typical SE Asian look found in the go-gos. She said she had Malay blood. All I cared about was that she was hot and had amazing breasts - quite large for a Thai girl.
Read the following carefully before venturing to Rainbow 1. She asked for B3,500 LT; we eventually settled on B2,500 LT. I told her I'd pay her another B500 if I like her. She readily agreed and 15 minutes later, we were out on the way to my hotel holdings hands like a bunch of love doves. She was cute and kept on calling me "sir". She wore a nice white dress which looked slightly classier in the hotel lobby than the usual jeans. I thought I was in heaven and had a stupid smile on my face. Little did I know.
During our session, my condom tore - we found out only once the deed was done. She headed to the bathroom to wash herself, while I waited. She returned in 5 minutes, asked me if I was OK and proceeded to dress. She said she had to go, as this was an emergency and she had to take a birth control pill. That wasn't exactly what I had in mind and I politely reminded her that we agreed on a LT session. She was adamant, so I informed her that I would only pay her B2000. This is where hell broke loose. She turned from an angel into a monster in a split second, and started shouting at me. I tried to reason with her, but she was impervious to my logic.
Don't get me wrong; B500 is only US$10, but it was a matter of principle for me, as I felt that she has reneged on a deal and did not deserve to be compensated fully.
At this point, she was threatening me with all the bigwigs she happened to know; the gangsters, the owners of the hotel, the owners of Rainbow 1. Bullshit for sure, but I was getting increasingly nervous. She shouted that she didn't really need the money (uh huh), and that this was "Thailand, not Farangland", etc. She then tried to push me several times and I found myself pushing her hand away from me. I phoned for security; she grabbed the phone from me and also yelled for the operator to get security. She then phoned someone on her cell and started yapping in Thai. Said she is phoning the police.
Several moments later, the security fellow was there, along with the manager on duty. The manager on duty asked her not to phone the police. They listened to both sides, but then I gave myself a good reality check; here I was a 4-star hotel in my bathrobe with a psychotic hooker trying to keep 500 Baht in my wallet and explaining why I had the right to do it to the hotel security. I thought "sod it" and told them I'd pay the extra B500 so they can get her out of my room. I then went to sleep.
This was the worst experience I ever had in Thailand, bar none. More unsettling, this happened with a girl from a go-go bar, which I always deemed as relatively safe, at least as compared to FL hang-outs. While I continued shagging for the duration of my stay in BKK, this put a huge damper on my trip.
Perhaps, in retrospect, I should have given her B500 and returned to Rainbow to attempt to collect my BF, but I didn't want to see her again, especially on her turf, and I also had doubts about the likelihood of getting my money back.
So should you venture to Rainbow 1, try your best to avoid this disaster. You're there to have fun, not to go through this sort of bullshit."
