[part 1 of 2]... incest and low IQ's? yes, Thailife is quite correct on both counts … stick around here for a few years, get off Sukhumvit and up-close to everyday Thai life, and you will pick-up more of this sort of stuff than you really want.
... first, let‘s look at the culture of inbreeding... a cultural habit that persists even in today’s Thailand … practiced at all levels of Thai society, high and low, often consensually through arranged marriages, it is intended to concentrate and build the family’s wealth and social influence, and keep the blood "pure"... all important to Thais, but pretty primitive mentality by civilized standards and those who are educated beyond the incompetence of the Thai Ministry of Educational Corruption.
… other times it is rape … drunkards with low IQ’s (more on that later), low impulse control, grossly deformed values, the protection of Thais afraid to become involved, and police and judicial systems that stay away from what they deem as “family matters"… I’ve seen first-hand the tragic psychological effects on young Thai girls... and it pisses me off... big!
... incest is more obvious in upcountry villages, as Thailife cites, where it is difficult to conceal from prying eyes and gossiping Thais... seems to happen more between uncles and nieces... and yes, some between fathers and daughters.
... and even between brothers and sisters, as was reported in the BKK Post a few months ago in a heartbreaking story of a little 12 year old Thai girl repeatedly raped by her three older (much older) brothers since she was 9 years old... when she finally reported it to school officials (who rarely, if ever, do anything about these crimes), her family denied it, protected the sons and abandoned their own horribly violated daughter … (she brought “shame” to the family’s good reputation) … the Thai habit of not getting involved in family crap like this (not police, not teachers, not neighbors) allows this animal crime to persist.
... will suggest you view on Wikipedia a well known Thai family, whose family tree illustrates the point (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vajiralongkorn you have to click the "[show]" button in the lower right-hand corner of the 'Ancestry' section to view the tree)... the subject's great-grandfather on his father's side is also his great-great-grandfather on his mother's side... his great-grandfather on his father's father’s side is also his great-grandfather on his father’s mother’s side.
... it's all pretty convoluted... and there is more … check out some of the inbreeding between other members' family trees … some family trees are blocked by the government, but most are allowed.
… various books on this family cite extraordinarily high rates of stillborn infants and infant mortality amongst their numbers … the woman who raised the current family patriarch as his surrogate grandmother had no surviving children from something like a half dozen live births … she is not the only member of the lineage to suffer similar such great losses … this is one of the consequences of chromosomal anomalies due to inbreeding.
… sad stuff, Finchy … incest was refuted at the very beginning of civilization, by then even low-level thinking humans … it is even a part of what defines humans as civilized, separating us from the soulless animals.

… this is well-documented problem in Thailand … first identified in the early 1990’s by international agencies (the UN/WHO, I believe) and since researched and reported in studies published by this and other international agencies in the early 1990’s, mid-2000’s, and late-2000’s … another report is being done now by the Thai government … (the Thai government’s denials and recriminations are truly entertaining pieces of childish fiction).
… inbreeding is one cause of low IQ’s, but the overwhelming cause in Thailand is a nutritional deficiency … lack of dietary iodine in pregnant women … iodine is necessary for the proper development of pre-birth infants neural systems, especially the brain, and is the single greatest determinant of intellectual potential... on average, iodine deficiency in pregnant women produces children with IQ's 13.5 points lower than normal.
… while lack of dietary iodine it is the biggest nutritional deficiency problem in the world today, it is also the cheapest and the easiest to solve … the total cost is about US$0.05/person/year … all of Thailand could be treated for a whopping US$3.0m per year … (about the cost of a corrupt Thai official’s second wife’s car) … administered as a supplement through table salt, fish sauce, soy sauce, Mama noodles, whatever.
… sadly, though, Thailand has failed utterly … falling behind every country in the study, except the gawdless North Korean and the inbred Fijians … even the corrupt and incompetent Cambodians, Laos, and Burmese have shot far past Thailand in treating the problem, all leaving Thailand in the dust … (Thais are still figuring out how to open and close a flood gate) … Thailand has made virtually zero improvement in almost 20 years, and the average IQ has even declined by 1 point since it was first identified.
… so … the numbers (all corrected for cultural bias) :
1. International average IQ is 100;
2. People with IQ’s of less than 70 are considered mentally retarded;
3. People with IQ’s of 130 and above are considered intellectually gifted (the minimum IQ for admission to Mensa) ;
4. The average Thai IQ is 91;
5. Approximately 6.8% of all Thais have an IQ of 70, or less (which is defined as “mentally retarded”) … that compares to an international average of 1.8% who score at 70, or less;
6. Another approximately 16% of all Thais have an IQ of between 70 and 75;
7. Nearly 1/4th of all Thais score either mentally retarded, or within 5 points of mentally retarded;
8. Areas of Isaan reported as much as 18% of the population had IQ’s of 70, or less.
… we witness remarkable Thai behaviors here every day that cannot be easily explained … but, when they cannot be explained as: (i) lack of education; (ii) cultural differences; (iii) alcohol, or drugs; (iv) mental illness; or, (v) simple misunderstandings, you might consider the above as one explanation.
… one example of remarkable Thais behavior I witnessed yesterday just cracked me up, was the new sign mounted on the inside of the door of the newly renovated Times Square Building men’s restroom toilet stalls: “Please do not flush sanitary napkins down the toilet.” … (written in English and Thai) … so … low IQ?

Here it goes: Blacks are inferior to whites. They are not the same. They are closer to the animal kingdom than whites. Black people do all kinds of things white people find repulsive. Sure it happens in white communities as well, but to nowhere the extend or acceptance that it happens in black communities. Blacks are not as smart as white people. Interesting.... a similar study was done in Louisiana and blamed the low IQ of the residents on lead poisoning from production of leaded gasoline.
It appears that this resulted in a large amount of lead based compounds in the water and the air.
Of course Big Oil blamed the use of lead solder in water pipes but that is hard to believe as at that time half the folks in Louisiana did not have running water  ...
