This place is though and guest friendly and 3 mins to BTS. Had some good reviews as well. Good sized rooms as well at 44 sqm and nice facilities and free broadband. Usually high floored rooms with views over the Royal Bangkok Sports Club.

Well Tim,
Am interested in the Centara - you can open a new threard for the Centerpoint - I did visit a few and did not like the way they are built because each unit's Air Condition is outside near the bedroom - noisy all night for me.
This Centara is located at the most prestigous area - nothing can be more impressive - not for cheap Charlies though...
So until it is confirmed by a visit of those in the know, we will have to wait and see (opens in Oct).
Why don't you try to get Cenrata to be offered through your site?

This does not mean anything. It may mean extra, such as in Extra Bed, or if you did not pay for double, you get charged for the difference.
What is needed here is someone who booked double, and brings a guest with him to see how the hotel will react.
Also, we had cases where officially hotels quote joiner fees (extra person does not mean that by the way) and in real this is not enforced.

It was in response to an email asking about joiner fees.
I wrote back asking for clarification and they stated that if you book a double you can have one (and only one) guest per night without any extra charge.

Excelent - of course this is a new top 5* hotel, in a room paid for two, you can have only 2 people: you and a guest!
This confirms actually this is guest friendly, you can bring one additional person if you booked double (but if you book a room for 3 people. with same principle, you can bring two guests...).
For one guest that is very fine indeed.

Now we need Tim to call hotel and see if he can get them to give him a good deal (may not be the case as this is a big chain and could be strict with regards to agents but at least worth a try and having it as an option). I even do the work for you... and if you click on this link: http://www.centarahotelsresorts.com/b2b/Seeing.asp you can book it cheaper as a travel agent for yourself, than others can using travel agent code SIB09 in their reservation system... !  Wander if we use this code in the booking will it work?
They have good pricese for Oct: 3000B M-F and 2800B weekends for Thai residents - incl tax, service, breakfast for two, 100B daily BTS ticket, possible to upgrade to next level when booking 2 rooms (two BTF members can hook together for such...?) and other goodies: http://www.centarahotelsresorts.com/package/BangkokSchoolHolidays.asp
