I am looking for a hotel in the range of US $50-$60 during Jan-Feb, preferably in the Sukumvit area with a reliable highspeed internet connection.
I should be able to use skype to USA without any interference or call drop.
What is my best choice?

Been awhile since you have been in LOS huh? Almost every hotel has some form of internet today:
First, good luck in not having Skype drop, even here in Singapore using a fibre-optic cxn we have issues with Skype sometimes.
As for hotels in your price range there are several options:
A few months back I stayed at the Boss Suites (Soi 4) and the internet was fine and was included in my rate.
I have also stayed at the Ambassador (Soi 11) but the internet costs extra there.
Any of the Citidines properties would also be suitable and they have good internet.
Also rtb has a pretty good setup at the Town Lodge.
That being said TIT and the providers here do not have the best track record. In the end the hotel does not control the quality of the broadband, the provider does.
I would check on hotels using Agoda.com and then follow-up on the hotel's website to see their internet policies...

That bad huh? I Skype with my pals in the US every week, and so far have never experienced any problems.

Yep, mainly poor voice quality on calls between Skype and landlines in the US.... might be a US problem though...
