Very soon I'll be there. Last year stayed at Grand Pacific. Was not GF so went to Majestic. I have a map from "angelfire" that has Manhattan has NOT girlfriendly, though I know the list on this has it as GF. That sometimes changes. Anyone there very recently who could confirm it is GF. Don't want a hassle. I like Majestic but not pool. Grace has the coffee shop, so I might do that one. Any help would be great between these two.

Grumbly I have heard read nothing but good things about Manhattan, and I'll be staying there in just a few weeks.
It has always been mentioned as girlfriendly, but to make sure you should book that double room as the numerous posts on this hotel suggest.
Read up on all the already existing posts on Manhattan, and I think you will be put at ease.

Hey brother Grumbly, welcome to the brotherhood ( You also brother Sura  ). The info you've been given about the Manhattan is slightly off center just a little bit so let me try and make it a little clearer.
Whatever room you book at the Manhattan make sure you book it not for one person ( As a single ), but for two people ( As a double ). This way they think that there will be two people staying in your room ( I'm hoping that will end up being the case sooner or later  ). This way you can bring a lady back to your room and not have to pay a joiner fee like brother Sura indicated. The joiner fee is usually around 600-1000 baht and will have to be paid each time you take a lady to your room.
If security stops you it will just be to make sure that you are booked in as a double. Once they verify this you'll be on your way. When you check in and tell them you've booked the room as a double they may or may not ask you where the other party is. If they do you may have to fudge the truth a little and say that your wife/girlfriend went shopping and will be joining you later that night. Personally when they ask me when my girlfriend will be joining me I usually answer, I don't know, I haven't met her yet. So far I haven't been kicked out yet so it seems to work okay and usually gets a smile. Hope this helps. Peace

good news guys
Seems that the slow trade is pushing down prices. It's an ill wind....... as they say but prices do move around a little bit. It can vary week by week
HS I am still not certain on my travel dates, but it is beginning to look like I will be there for a few days from 6th July, and again around 17th to 19th.
A beer at the hotel is sounding good. For me anyway but if nobody sees me I will buy a soft drink for you.
