I'd like to try the Legacy, too. Does anyone have an idea how they'd react to me bringing back three or four ladies? I know the hotel is GF concerning one girl, but sometimes GF hotels react negatively to multiple girls. Anyone know about the Legacy from experience? It isn't a question you can pose in an email and expect a realistic answer. Evil

I was in the area so I checked out the Legacy on Soi 29. There is still a lot of construction going on... it was difficult to find the lobby entrance. Once inside, the front desk called down a sales agent to show me the legacy suite; I did not ask to see the other room types. The sales agent was quite cute - and perhaps because of that I didn't ask about their overnight guest policy. The suite was nicely furnished in a modern style. Nice Samsung LCD TVs. Everything is brand new and looks it. Definitely has that "impress the TG" look to it. But I am a little concerned about the materials used and how they will stand up. For example, the shower tile is that horrible 1 to 2 inch square type that just seems to breed mildew and impossible to keep clean. Compared to the Sofitel Asoke Residence where I am now, it is a different feel. The Sofitel is cavernous; sparsely furnished, but built solid as a rock with wood and large ceramic tiles everywhere. The Legacy has a warmer feel with furnishings that fill the space. The Sofitel is more condo-like; the Legacy more hotel suite-like. I may give the Legacy a try next trip. By that time the pool and restaurant will be open. And the construction should be completed. There is a lot of new construction going on in the soi besides the Legacy so it might be noisy for some time. Of course, it also waits to be seen what their rates will be once the promotional period ends. The cute sales agent said I should contact her before my next trip to check on promotions. Her questions seemed to imply they are looking for long stay guests. And looking for corporate clients; asking me what company I worked for so she could check for corporate rates.

I did the Adelphi when I was in BKK en route to London at Christmas and I must say that except for the brekke I am extremely satisfied. The rooms are well furnished and the entire hotel very clean. The staff is extremely helpful and the Soi 8 pub (great beer and burgers) is right across the street. I stayed in a studio as it was only overnight but I was taken for a tour of the rooms and facilities and they were better than expected for a Serviced Apartment in that price range. The coolest room is the one-bedroom on the 16th floor. It is the only room on that floor and the front door opens up to the pool deck. Just think, after they lock down the pool for the night you and you girl can go skinny dipping...

Didn't time the walk. But I think Soi 29 is almost equidistant between Asoke and Phrom Phong stations. My guess is the distance from the Legacy to either is between 700 and 800 meters.

Any one know if Adelphi Suites has in room safe? I just booked for my trip in April but through the excitment forgot to check if they did or did not have in room safe. I try their website but couldn't find any info on in room safe or I am just blind from the excitement of my next trip. Did not want to cancel until confirm by the brothers of this site. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, tango

As for any hotel that targets Farang (and this is true for most of Asia) --- Yes. In this case it is a standard size 4-number room safe...

Not gonna happen in any hotel lockbox. I have always brought my laptop with me as I come to BKK for business. Never had a problem leaving it in its case stashed in closet when I am out golfing or on the town. At Landmark I leave it on the desk charging with no problem and I suspect that the Adelphi is the same but of course YMMV...

This hotel looks good, will try it. About laptops: I have a notebook lock that I wire to a chair or similar. It is not bullet proof, but it make it less tempting to try to grab it.
