I would add "The Davies" to the list... Sukh. Soi 24 (close to Rama III not Sukh. though, but still...) They have very nice suites (called "Premium"?) in the new/corner wing... successfully worked out Asian design or boutique style (unlike the cold purely western Dream hotel design) with excellent value for money (like 3800 via web) Book early, they don't have many... At the Davies always go for the new or corner wing, the main wing is nothing more than a good business hotel and lacks all the good stuff.

DAVIS Yes, pool is really small, but don' use it most of the times anyway. The suites with jacuzzi are great and for 2 punter friends top value (see my review in this section) Also a night concierge bitch wanted to give me a hard time, when I stayed there last, but the punter prevailed Grand Hyatt Erawan is nice when I stay with business partner and wifes, great spa, great pool, few tourists and quite expensive shark 68

Ahhh DaviEEEs - damned, it’s “The Davis”… I always make this mistake, sorry... It's true, small pool with few chairs, sub-5-* breaky... and you wouldn't want to walk to the Skytrain... a motocy taxi does the trick though... then again Taxi approach through Rama III is good... The rooms and suites in the corner wing have the most tasteful and luxurious interior I have ever seen in BK hospitality and you can get them for a relatively small amount, that's the only point I wanted to make... 5* is normally out of my range... errr budget that is... As a regular 5* patron Davis might be disapointing...

MTK I like the Davis or the 'David' as the Thai's call it too. As I am never up early enough for breakfast, I like the French café on the opposite side...

I stayed in Baan Davis (Camp Davis), which consists of eight separate two-story Thai villas (two or three bedrooms). Great if you are planning a party with a lot of female guests. It's one of those places the girls call their friends or sisters to "come and see," so you'll always end up with more female companionship that planned. The pool in Baan Davis is pretty big as I remember. Also, the breakfast buffet was definitely good when I was last there in November. Huge selection of Western, Thai, Japanese and Chinese dishes. Location isn't a problem - hotel has a tuk tuk to take you to Sukhumvit Road and the BTS and its no problem to get a cab. I only stay in Thai Villa if the company pays (website says US $600 a night, but you can always get it for US$300), but it is a great option. Sandontoes - You should also try the Platinum Suite at the President Solitaire. Not as a upscale as the other hotels you list, but huge suites with a four-person jacuzzi. Very good value for money, considering the amount of space you get, the top-notch entertainment system and full kitchen. It would probably fail your requirements for pool and gym (it has both, but small) and the breakfast buffet is OK but nothing special. However, if a Platinum Suite isn't available, I'd give the PS a miss. Evil

I also like the Davis. However, I think the main wing is better than the corner wing. The main wing offers a better breakfast, plus you don't have to walk to another building to use the pool and gym. I actually liked their rooftop pool. It may not be that big, but it certainly is much better than say the MG's pool. I thought the panoramic view at the Davis pool was really cool. Found this on youtube - this Davis suite looks incredibly fun! It's got a freaking hot tub, sauna, and shower right in the middle of the room! It definitely would work great for one of those 75 girls parties! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJEQavoo3Jg -
