Too bad indeed... well I was trying to be your customer... but one with very picky choices...  So many new 5* hotels and other.. but me have only one vacation per year... though for 3-4 weeks...!
Thanks for the efforts and keep us updated.. I know dealing with Sofitel/Novotel is not easy they just offer you their standard which they compete with on their own web with specials... so whats the point?
Anyway, hotel looks nice, and, for me, is in a good place (yes cannot walk to Cowboy/Nana as I did from Landmark but good stuff to walk to during the day... so not that bad...).
Now we need to get a GF report and/or actual visit from the brothers and we are all set...!

Accor advantage has it at 2,465 BAHT plus 17%.
Sure looks good,, Ive opted for the sister hotel Chateau de bangkok,, got that REALLY cheap 1781 Baht plus 17%. It's 4 star and in Lumpini area.

Too bad... you have an excelent price for the Centara Grand. The Chateau de bangkok is not close (level of hotel and location is quite far from Suk).

Apollo,,, I still got 3 nights not already booked,,, after returning from Isaan,,, I may well give Centara a try.
For happy moto-taxi customers,, Chateau to Sukumvit doesn't take long.,,,,, Probably about time I re-started checking out areas beside just Sukumvit.

Good thing mate,
This is the difference between "value" and "cheap price". Not everything that has a low price represents a good value. Going out of the hotel in the morning, Central World is there and on the right you are in Siam Center - you can even walk to MBK (not that it is a biggie to visit there) because you do so mostly inside A/C malls... BTS station just in front of the hotel... cannot get better than that....
The Chateau's location is far and offers nothing interesting that is walking distance around it - yes you can always get a moto-taxi but why? Service will also be very different again, not all Accor's hotels are the same...
While the Chateau's price looks cheap at ~1800B++, the Centara Grand at ~2500B++ is an excelent value for a 5 star hotel that is new and at the location it is at.
Hope you can let us know how it is from inside and what the girls think.... with your remaining unbooked 3 nights...

Chateau de Bangkok, is just 5 minutes from Ploenchit BTS. Conrad hotel is within walking distance and so is the All Seasons shopping area. And of course, there are restaurants and bars along Ruam Rudee at your disposal, but certainly not as much as what Central World and Siam Center has to offer.

BK you must fast walking - it takes me over 10 minutes... there is a shuttle that they provide to take people from/to BTS, by the way.

Apollo,,, even though the Aussie dollar is similiarly priced to single sheets of toilet paper,, I will book Centara for those 3 nights.
Inside report will follow.
Actually will be perfect comparison of Chateau and Centara as stays will only be about 5 ISAAN days apart
A 3 way comparo even better,, because I'm stayinmg at the BEST of Best that Manila has to offer,, Sofitel Manila bay,, normally some US$500 per night !!! WTF,,, lucky I paid for it before the Aussie dollar went to shi*t,,, with club discount got it at US$160. Free coctails and Auderves( frig spelling French words),,, 5pm - 9:30pm in Sofitel VIP lounge. 84 square metres of LUXURY overlooking Manila harbour,,, 8 person Spa ( Jacuzzi).
Must admit i've never stayed in that type of luxury before,,, hope I don't get use to it
