Looking only at those I have stayed: 1) Regent -now named Four Seasons; everything great like all the top hotels in Bangkok, but unbeatable location. 2) Hyatt Erawan. Same as above, but second choice as the clearance from the floors for doors is a bit high and sometimes a bit of corridor noise gets in. 3) Shangri-La. Great hotel, but location is not that great for business purposes. A bit far. 4) Sukhothai. Again, great hotel, but Sathorn can be a hell of a traffic jam at certain times. I have seen the rooms of the following ones (not stayed), but I would have them as choices following those above: -Oriental -location issues. -Peninsula -location issues -Banyan Tree -location... and a wind issue at the restaurant; though view is great. - Conrad -great location, 87 and the Diplomatic bar are very good, but besides the curtain trick for the toilets, the rooms do not do it for me.

Have to say the Landmark. Real friendly night staff as well. After one serious night drinking me and lady friend were helped to our room. They had a good laugh about it all week. Great location and view as well.

I would recommend Emporium Suites - serviced apartment/hotel above the Emporium shopping mall. 1. reasonable price c.Bt4000/night 2. Huge rooms with TV/DVD/kitchen 3. Full hotel facilities - 24hr room service, pool, gym etc 4. Best location in BKK 5. On the BTS 6. No restrictions on "guests"
