Web Sawadee's reservation service is not to be trusted. I prepaid a room through them and the confirmation didn't come back by email until the day after check-in. I had to spend over an hour on the phone with them standing in the lobby waiting to check in while they sorted it out -- that was at my cost on my mobile phone as they and the hotel refused to pay for the call.
Even thoguh the mistakes were entirely on their end, I had to absorb all the costs of getting it straightened out. And I never even got an apology from them. Obviously it shouldn't take nine days to confirm a bank transfer and forward a booking. F*ck 'em. Never again.

Very strange. I experienced no difficulties and received the confirmation within minutes.
Your experience as you descibed it may have had other reasons than a lack of trustworthiness. Maybe they simply had technical problems.

I don't know what their problem was, but it should not have occurred at all. It's bad enough when a reservation goes sour, but having to jump through hoops at your own cost when a room is fully pre-paid is just unacceptible.

It has to be the Majestic Suites for me, and I have never seen a single ant. Nana hotel is too worn for my liking, time for some refurbishment I think.

Actually you don't have to book through a travel/hotel website to get the lower rate. Last year, I saw Majestic website had double room listed at 1500 baht per night and a travel website at 1300 baht. So - I e-mailed Majestic and asked for the 1300 rate and they agreed. You never know what you can get if you just ask for it.
All the times I have been in BKK, I stayed in Majestic. They are efficient (never lost a reservation), breakfast is OK - if only to overcome the dehydration from the previous night - location is great. I have seen an occassional roach in the room, but don't bother me. We are in the tropics! Rooms are kinda small and the TV lineup sucks. The safe is great - big enough to hold a lot of stuff. The staff is discrete - never stares at you when you bring in girls - one or more.
By the way one of the chicks I picked up at Angels disco told me the hotel interior was designed by a Japanese designer - when you think about it, the room does have a Japanese feel to it. Of course, it may also explain the small size of the rooms (if you've ever been to Japan you know what I mean!!).
