I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the new pool. I didn't stay at Nana when I was in town in April, but after my experiences at Grand Business Inn, I wish I had.

For 1100 a night Nana is not only a better hotel than Dynasty with a more consistent room quality, it's 100 baht cheaper. EDIT [oops! 1200 is the rate for both dynsaty pattaya hotels, bkk is 1090, but the extra 10 baht is worth paying IMHO]. The new pool has made up my mind on where I'm staying when I come back to BKK. After an arduous day walking through the BKK heat, I'm looking forward to a dip in the pool and coffee at the poolside before I shower up and hit Sukhumvit.
Also, Dynasty has raised its rates to finance the construciton of the new smaller rooms you'll receive with a window that's as wide as your credit card and looks at a wall. Yes indeed, there are plenty of upper floor Nana rooms with huge windows looking out on soi 4 and soi 3.
Majestic has nicer rooms, and Swiss Grottino is awesome, but Nana is just the best value. I loved it as a newbie and after trying several other hotels, it's still the best. The other hotels have faults from time to time and Nana is no worse than any other hotel.
But indeed keep trashing it on this forum, so it stays affordable.

agreed, they did a good job on the new pool at Nana Hotel. Have enjoyed many an afternoon there with my TGF (who is learning to swim, lol) at the expense of a friend who stays there quite often, hehehehe...
The Nana has its customary issues, like on-again/off-again folks at the counter, etc., but it is an institution, and a venerable one at that, lol!

True about the faults, but I've encountered those at every hotel I've been too. There will be at least one unconcerned staff member especially when the supervisor isn't around.
The bottom line is you aren't goingto find a better hotel at 1100 baht and below and you can easily find worse ones for more money.
To really get better quality in a simialr sized room you're going to be paying above 1500 baht+ and your hotel will probalby be somewhere further away from it all. For us out of towners staying a few nights it's an ideal choice. LONG LIVE NANA!
